two decades of the existence of my blog!!
whoa! two decades of blogging!! oops! correction. it should be two decades of the existence of my blog as i had not been blogging at all during the previous years.
yes, today is my blog 20th anniversary, a blog that had rip for so long. never use it anymore but on the anniversary date, i try to post something. so i guess meaning once a year only it comes alive. although i am not using it, i still want to retain the hosting and domain name each year. must not let go the hosting and domain. hosting cost RM106 and domain name cost RM56. so every year i am paying these just to keep the site alive.
my blogging days started after i had first time came across a blog – that was written by jeff ooi (at that time he was not involved in politics yet). fascinated at how a blog works so decided to start one for myself. at first i was using blogger.com and had the url ‘jogalong.com’. later i graduated to wordpress.com, of which then i change the url to my own name.
my blog started off as a socio-political blog (sopo blog in short). yes, ‘grumbling’ at the government and politicians. 
that time i was active in political news and current news, so had a lot to say. those days, even attended lots of ceramah, forum, rally, protest, gatherings. so much fun.
those fun days of blogging, we had bloggers meet too in penang. some, me, as one of the organisers and some (fewer) not me as organiser. so many of my blogging mates those days are now not blogging anymore too – like eelyn tan, yvy (who are now on facebook). those i remember that i don't see on facebook are like kenny… was it lim?… who was very famous at those time. then there was also this sixthseal, a very unconventional blogger, who did silly and dangerous stuff. ahh yes… how can i forget, the one blogging mate who is still blogging till today is none other than my matey mate, kaytee moc! (also active on FB). kudos to you, kayee!
during those blogging days, two significant things that happened which i always remember are:
1) 2007, i was featured in the star's weekly magazine, clove.

2) 2004 – one of my blog post was nominated for the 'world aids day' award

3) the 2004 boxing day tsunami that affected penang. i was very involved in the works of helping out in various ways – eg cleaning up their houses, packing clothes, household items, etc, for the victims and so on. the singapore straits times picked up my 'tsunami works' and mentioned my blog both on their online media and hardcopy media.
