5 years of blogging
wow! can you believe it? i almost forgot about my blog anniversary. too many things had been happening… too many things to blog about. luckily today happen to be a sunday, where usually on a sunday, i try to steer away from socio political posts. thinking of what to post on a sunday… some joke or some motivational story, the date 28 sept suddenly struck me… it’s the date where i started blogging 5 years ago! 5 years, mind you. i’m a, what they call ‘veteran blogger’. heh.

4 very ‘liberal’ malay bloggers
today instead of blogging on something everybody’s blogging about like the 10 cents petrol price cut or the actions to do for RPK or even the inflation (which seemed to be popular posts which many bloggers had blog on), i’m going to introduce to you four of my favourite malay bloggers (writer is more apt for them than blogger actually). not that you haven’t heard of them, i’m sure. they are very popular so i’m sure many have heard of them. lim kit siang is also very fond of them as i see many times he put up their posts in his blog.

another blogger arrested for speaking up!
yep, another blogger arrested again! it’s the sedition act again! oh boy, our police/gomen do love to use the sedition act on
bloggers eh?
who was it this time? first came across the news at malaysiakini, then read about it at many blogs. it’s kickdefella, real name syed azidi syed aziz, or more known as sheih (picture). apparently he was held for investigation into ‘instigating others to fly the flag upside down’.
when he first made the call to fly the flag upside down to show that the country is in distress, there were many who support him but there were also many who did not support him… and i was in the latter group. i disagree with his idea of flying the flag upside down but of course he is entilted to his opinion, and though i disagree, i kind of salute him for coming out with the idea (heh. sounds confusing eh), which means to say i definetely disagree with the labels the PM hurled at him - despicable and evil. come on lah, mr PM, you call this despicable and evil when there are many other stuffs that are so despicable and evil (eg corruption, umno’s racial politics!!).
how in the world can urging people to fly the flag upside down be seditious? what about what that arrogant ahmad ismail had been saying? and recently khir toyol? oops. silly me, i forgot. they are umnoputera, there’s another law for them (or the police can’t touch them?).
i hope sheih will be released soon, and i hope no more bloggers will be arrested. however what i hope most is that TERESA KOK AND RPK WILL BE FREE SOON!!
ok folks, let’s all sing…. suara rakyat! let us all make noises for our voices to be heard!
fight for the truth! oppose evil! do away with oppression! hold firm justice! (these are the 4th verse of the song).

frust! blog down many times!
i guess for those of you who are regulars, when you try to log in my blog, there were times you can’t you access my blog right? yes, my blog had been down these few days. so fed up! for first time visitors if they come in and see can’t access my blog, it will put them off, never to come again. so frust lah!
usually like yesterday, in the morning and afternoon can access my blog but suddenly at around 4.00pm my blog cannot be access… and i was on computer until 8.00pm, still my blog can’t be accessed! more than 4 hrs! within that 4 hrs, many people would have come in already…. but see nothing. i guess this kind of explain i have no comments at some posts. people cannot access my blog! and once they cannot, they don’t feel like coming back. argghh!!
these intermittent server errors started occurring about 3 weeks ago (or maybe more). and the most frustrating part was that it started to occur when for the first time my blog appeared in malaysiakini. i notice the first time my blog appeared in malaysiakini, my traffic triple! imagine that! then later on for the subsequent times it appeared, at times i notice my blog can’t be accessed! this is no good, no good at all. when my blog just started to appear in malaysiakini, but malaysiakini visitors clicking on my blog link at malaysiakini, can’t access my blog! it put off visitors! i’m so sad lah.
hmm… i see that exabytes has some 7th anniversary promotion. perhaps i should switch to host with exabytes? or maybe with a friend who also offer hosting service.

remember the ‘50 posts to merdeka‘ project started by nizam bashir of poetic justice? i was tagged at no. 16 by dr. hsu (no. 15), and i in turned tagged politics101 (no. 17). the posts moves in descending order, with of course nizam being at no. 50. we have famous bloggers like jeff ooi, marina mahathir and rocky in this project. here are all the 50 posts. btw i copied this list of links from palmdoc. you can also see all the links in nizam’s blog of course.
if you have the time, do read all of them as many of them are very good. i did not highlight mine up there (above paragraph) because i felt that compare to all the about 40 posts, mine was not good at all.

will mykad tells that you are a blogger?
yeah i was wondering about this after i read in elizabeth wong’s blog about how suaram director, dr kua kia soong was denied entry into sarawak because his mykad contain information that he had been blacklisted for his involvement in anti-logging activities. oh, and his mykad also tells on him that he was a former member of parliament.
since it is said mykad contain an entire dossier about you, who knows one of the info might be "this person is a goblok blogger". you know how it is now with the government’s ‘anti-bloggers’ attitude, this might be possible!
note: for the fun of it, why don’t you try out the mykad generator?

remember the port klang assemblyman and councillor who build a mansion without permission? all 37 charges against him had been dropped!! yep, you heard me right. dropped!! just like that! god help us!!
i first knew of it through jeff ooi’s blog, then later on at aisehman’s. (2 of my top 10 favourite blogs).
Mozni Sham Ahmad and Joseph R. Samuel who appeared for Zakaria, his partners and the two companies said the charges were withdrawn because the “outstanding problems had been settled”.

Blogging - the greatest national threat?
sorry, this is another CnP job again. in fact i would say CnP WC. whazzat? CnP without comments! (for the uninitiated who still don’t know what’s CnP, it’s ‘cut and paste’
.
yesterday i gave you a CnP article from our monthly catholic magazine. today i will give you a CnP article from our weekly catholic paper, the herald. it comes under the youth column and it is about blogging and nathaniel tan’s arrest. (there’s a nice picture of nat too in the herald). today our living room light was not working, and with the computer in the living room, it was not good for my eyes to stare at the computer screen which glared at me brightly under the dark, thus i have to made a quick post (this CnP) and call it a night.
