oh horror! insect in my food!
argghhh!! look what i found in the fried indonesian mee i ate this morning for my brunch.
some kind of insect…. grasshopper?
today being a public holiday, i don’t have to go to work. so usually during public holiday, my mum when she went to the market, she will buy back food for me. too late for breakfast – since i woke up late, and too early for lunch – so consider it brunch. yeah every public holiday (or sunday) i only take brunch (food bought outside).
i asked her to buy the fried indonesian mee today. i have eaten this fried indonesian mee before several times. it is from one of the stalls at the bayan baru food court (just behind the market and next to sunshine square). beside selling fried indonesian mee, the stall sell other type of food too.
well my mum bought it back for me, i pout out the mee from the plastic bag to a plate – it was very full (big plate). i ate and ate until about 1/4… then i saw this something which i thought look like sotong. i bite it, found it hard and spit it out and to my horror…. saw it was an insect!
goodness gracious me!! what the hell!!! how did the insect appeared in the mee? maybe it flew to the frying pan when the man was frying the mee? i was not eating the mee there in the food court itself, so i can’t point it out to the seller. my mum said she wanted to pack the insect and showed it to the mee seller tomorrow when she went back to the food court (she went there everyday for marketing) but my sister said not necessarily. she said just go and tell him verbally about it.
luckily it is a grasshopper and not a cockcroach since i fear cockroach a lot. think i would have puke if it was a cockroach. although very mad, i take consolation in the fact that in thailand and philippine, they do eat fried grasshopper. haha. all the same, i can’t imagine what would happen if i do eat it! well, of course i’m still very mad at the ‘extra ingredient’ i found in my fried indonesian mee this morning.
i’m posting this in facebook too and putting up another 2 pictures. i’m sure i’ll receive some comments from facebook.
