sad… mob rule in malaysia

the mob wins!

the temple will not be relocated to section 23!

so the mob at the cow-head protest and at the meeting wins!

after threatening bloodshed, after getting abusive, hurling insults, throwing chairs and shoes, getting vulgar – the MB of selangor had to back down and thus giving way to the mob!

is this the malaysia we want?

like the hindu sangam, i feel very disappointed over the MB’s decision but on the other hand i do understand how the MB feel if i were in his shoes.

it’s just that i’m so mad that a few uncivilised people who resort to acting like thugs, get what they want! the selangor state government was kind enough to call for a meeting to discuss the temple relocation issue. so why can’t the people behaved during the meeting? at least if, let’s say, the people were very civilised, never shout or hurl abuse/insults but they object to the relocation – and the final decision from the MB was ok not to relocate the temple – i won’t be angry or disappointed at all. however… grrr!!… look at what happened recently. these people who objected behaved so shamlessly and yet in the end they got what they wanted.

so is this the malaysia we want?

go on a protest, threatened bloodshed, get violent and abusive – then get what you want?

oh sorry, don’t get your hope high – you can’t do that and get what you want if you are not umno members or backed by umno. (on the contrary, you’ll get arrested at once). but now umno is the ruling party – so this mob win will happen often. sad. 🙁
