ISA to stay to uphold ‘ketuanan melayu/islam’?

that is what the katak ibrahim wants, when he lead his perkasa (pertubuhan pribumi perkasa malaysia) members to hand over a memo to the home ministry, asking for ISA to be used to detain anyone who questions or debates the role of islam, the status of the malay rulers, special position of bumiputeras and bahasa malaysia as the national language.

whoa! this is really a case of abusing ISA! all the more ISA should go! abolished!!

ok ok if you say so, then what about those who insult or shame islam? hey, all those recent ‘cow-head’ protestors had shamed islam! they also shouted “allah akhbar” – bringing in allah’s name. why, the are insulting their own allah! also, don’t forget the protestors who can use a vulgar word together with the word ‘islam’ (see this article in the malaysian insider) – that is clearly shaming islam! what about those who insult the malay rulers? if going by your logic, then all these bumiputera people should be put under ISA!

those who question bahasa as the national language need to be ISAed too? how do you define ‘those who question bahasa…’? it is very subjective and if you want to talk about the issue of teaching maths and science in bahasa – why then, mahathir then should be ISAed too as he was for teaching of maths and science in english.

anyway, isn’t malay rights already enshrined in the constitution, so why need to hide behind ISA?

btw, kerismuddin, the home minister had commanded perkasa for meeting him with the memo to voice their intentions. why wasn’t that a surprise. he and perkasa are sama bangsa, sama ugama, so it is easy for perkasa to meet him, he is willing to meet them.

look at what happened at the recent proposal of the catholic lawyers society plan of handing over a memo to the home ministry, regarding the non action on the al-islam journalists defiling a catholic ritual. they never even got started to go to the home ministry, they were already threatened not to do so! apparently some certain weak-faith parties felt that the christians were out on a vendetta against islam, so they try to prevent the handing over of the memo. fact is they themselves felt threatened (oh ye of little faith) so need to put a stop to the handing over of memo by the christian group… just like how they felt threatened at the set up of the inter-religious council (IRC).

another way to look at it is the ketuanan islam again. they felt islam is superior to all religions, so islam and other religions should not come together as one council body.

well i’m sure perkasa is gunning for ketuanan islam/melayu (islam/malay supremacy), that’s why they want ISA to be used on non muslim who ‘talk’ about islam/malays!! i guess their reason for not abolishing ISA is now crystal clear! the sad part is that, i’m sure, it is not only perkasa members who hold this thought but many other bigots muslims for example the PKR MP from kulim.
