combating AIDS through religion
tomorrow is world AIDS day. don’t forget to wear a red ribbon in support of the day and in solidarity with people living with HIV/AIDS (acronym to PLWHA).
the theme for this year’s world AUDS day is ’stop AIDS, keep the promise - leadership’.
with that in mind, on 25 nov, the community aids service penang (CASP) organised a forum with the above title, to see what roles can religious leaders play to help combat AIDS. the forum was supported by the state government.
i attended the forum which was held at the caring society complex (kompleks masyarakat penyayang). there were about 50 people in attendance.

thanks for speaking up, dr toh!

the outspoken one of the few BN exco i admired, dr toh kin woon (picture) had spoken out (or as malaysiakini put in ‘broke rank’) regarding mass protests on the street. he wrote a letter to malaysiakini which has the heading boldly proclaim ‘i disagree with the country’s leaders‘.

the khairy plan and about his father-in-law
most of us of course lament the leadership of our present PM and wish he would be kicked off the PM seat soon. there is one person who do not wish to see him go… no, not because of his love for the PM, but for his own selfish reason. that person is non other than the PM’s own son-in-law, khairy jamaluddin - the ambitious oxford graduate young man.
he has a plan, so said stevan gan, editor of malaysiakini. read all about it in his article ‘an incompetent, not-so-nice guy’ in which he actually talked about the PM. i am producing the article here.. right at the end after my comments.

UMNO gansterism at work?
this brawl (what near brawl, star? it was a brawl!) happened at the kelantan state assembly. nozula mat diah, from BN paloh kicking at mohd zaki ibrahim of PAS during the Q&A session. apparently he had been restrained… otherwise i shuddered to think what would have happened further. wallop mohd zaki in the tummy or punch his face?
read more at sheih’s kickdefella’s post, in which you will get even more geram when you read sheih’s interview with this gangster UMNO assemblyman.
the YB - yang bersamseng - when asked will he regret his action since what he did will be telecast to the whole world, had the cheek to answer what he did was right (the ‘victim’ deserved it). he said what he did was to teach him (PAS’s mohd zaki) a lesson not to belittle BN MPs. apparently mohd zaki said something that he didn’t like so, like an uncultured, uneducated samseng, the only thing he could do was to fight!
(and don’t forget the earlier incident where one UMNO man punched a chinese reporter!)

when i heard on tv the PM said that the gomen had been fair to all races (on the issue of the hindraf rally and indians being marginalised). fair? my foot! hello dear PM, there is such a thing as NEP, you know, of which youm not too long ago said will be here to stay. as long as there is NEP, there is no fairness.

IGP, musa hassan, you are a liar!
in the star report:
Musa said no tear gas or water cannons were used at the demonstrators during the incident.
really? then pray tell me, what does these pictures show?
clear as can be! first picture show police lining up and firing tear gas! then second picture shows the police truck shooting water canon!
pictures don’t lie, musa. people do.
these pictures are taken from jeff ooi’s blog. lots of other pictures can be found too. (and the latest post of jeff, where he pointed out the inconsistency).

demolish the statues and destroy the crosses (part II)
this is in reference to my post two days ago, on the same subject above. there is an english translation of the hansard i posted at kenny law’s blog. do hop over there to read ok. there’s a nice picture of the ‘couple’ there too. what couple? these 2 MP (which stand for morons of parliament - just learn this from kenny’s blog), the YB (yang bodoh) who are so scared of crosses in schools.

“demolish the statues and destroy the crosses”
no, this doesn’t come from the taliban country, afghanistan or saudi arabia. this comes from our very own country.
who said it? an MP for parit sulong.
where? at the circus house parliament.
when? 29 oct. 2007
statues/crosses from where? mission schools.
why he said it? ISLAMISATION in the making!!
i’m not making this up. and no, i’m not trying to drive a divide between islam and christianity (because one blogger said that was what i like to do). i’m merely presenting you with facts, then of course add my own comments.
here… the proof. extract from hansard (parliament records).

rape victim sentenced to jail
yep, you read me right. rape victim sentenced, not the rapist. not only she had been sentenced to jail for six months but she will received 200 lashes too.
where is this happening? well you might have guessed it - saudi arabia. yep, this is justice the arab’s style - the court sentencing victim. oh right, another correct guess, i guess - ’tis syariah law.
A Saudi court sentenced a woman who had been gang raped to six months in jail and 200 lashes — more than doubling her initial penalty for being in the car of a man who was not a relative, a newspaper reported Thursday.
her ‘crime’? she was in a car with a man who was not her relative. initially she was to be given 90 lashes but had the number of lashes increased. why?
According to Arab News, the court said the woman’s punishment was increased because of "her attempt to aggravate and influence the judiciary through the media."
wah! in what way i wonder.
never mind her explanation on how she ‘get in the car with a strange man’ as long as she was in a car with a strange man, she was guilty. oh yeah never mind if she get raped, who told her to be alone in a car with a strange man - just that made the court sentenced her.
read the full article before making comments.
read another news article where some human rights group demanded for the charges to be drop.
