demolish the statues and destroy the crosses (part II)

POSTED: Saturday, 24/11/07, 2:12 AM   FILED: christian, issues, politics, religion |

this is in reference to my post two days ago, on the same subject above. there is an english translation of the hansard i posted at kenny law’s blog. do hop over there to read ok. there’s a nice picture of the ‘couple’ there too. what couple? these 2 MP (which stand for morons of parliament - just learn this from kenny’s blog), the YB (yang bodoh) who are so scared of crosses in schools.

didn’t the parit sulong MP know that what he said only serve to embarrass himself (or maybe other malays too). as if muslim who goes to the mission school and seeing  the cross will make them want to become christians? if so, this shows, their own faith is weak. the yang bodoh is telling us muslim’ faith are weak!

as i commented in kenny’s blog, i’m sure there are many UMNOputera and even the UMNO MPs and state leaders who were educated in mission school before and kenny pointed out that our DPM was educated in st john’s institution! did he at that time made noises about the crosses and statues? did the cross and statue in the school frightened these non christian leaders who were educated in those schools?

actually, if not mistaken, sometime ago, a year or more back, someone did made noises about crosses in mission school, and some mission schools had to remove the crosses.

i wonder will one day some MP YB (morons of parliament, yang bodoh) made noises regarding the fatimah hospital in ipoh - to remove the statue of mary, which if i’m not wrong, is there in front of the building entrance. the fatimah hospital was started by the ‘brothers of mercy’, one of the many brothers congregation from the catholic church.

actually the issue of the mission schools slowly losing its identity (its christian identity, that is) is an old issue. it had been discussed and debated before i think. the problem is that no matter how much we talk about it, the very sad thing is in time to come mission schools will lose its identity all together…. because UMNO RULES!!

      Hello,
I think it’s not just the identity that is being erased by destroying the crosses/statues. It’s also destroying a part of history of the country. I believe that these schools were the first to provide Malayan/Malaysian children with a quality education.
The contributions of these schools and the people who set these schools up should not be forgotten, and demolishing the crosses and statues is akin to dishonoring their legacy.

Btw, I was born in Hospital Fatimah, but I never noticed any statue up front I’ll keep my eyes open the next time I drive by.

What I would like to see is for these two fellows to repeat their allegations and make the same statements in public without the benefit of parliamentary immunity. These statements are Sedition Act offences.

Bob, if you’ve watche the UTube documentary, “Malaysia at the Crossroad”, in it’s last part, the grand mufti of Perak made veil threat and clearly hate speech. Something that happened to be also untrue, about Chinese “bullying” his race.

yeah true - the history too. yes the missionaries were the first to provide education in malaysia.

about the statue of mary at hospital fatimah - it was there about 7 years ago when i visited the hospital. now… i’m not sure if it is still there.
you know the first time i heard of fatimah hospital i ipoh, i thought it was malay owned because of the malay sounding name ‘fatimah’. then i realise it was owned by the catholic church and actually the name is ‘fatima’ without the ‘h’. in our catholic church, we have mary depicting as our lady of sorrows, our lady of fatima, our lady of perpetual help and so on. so the fatimah hospital was named after ‘our lady of fatima’ (fatima is a place in portugal). i guess we should know why the letter ‘h’ was added to ‘fatima’.

yep these people are cowards - making seditious remarks all the while in parliament or their assembly. but the sad thing is that even if they do make the remarks outside, you know how our law work - double standard - they might not be charged… just like the mufti of perak as wits0 mentioned here.

Read the story of protest by Indians in Malaysia. Wonder what’s happening there.
