kenyataan yang dipertuan ABIM mengelirukan umat

(heading translated = statement of ABIM yang dipertuan confusing followers)

my post ‘don’t challenge islam’. sigh… here we go again’ refers. at the end of the post, i mentioned about a letter from the herald. here is the letter. (translation in english by me appears in italic at certain chosen parts only).

Kenyataan Yang dipertuan ABIM mengelirukan umat.

Salam damai Editor,

Saya ucapkan ‘ tahniah’ kepada Yang dipertuan Angkatan Pemuda Islam (Caw. Perak) Suhaimi Latip kerana:
1) menulis tanpa menyiasat  terlebih dahulu

2) kenyataan yang mengelirukan penganut Islam sendiri

Kenyataan Yg diPertuan ini dikeluarkan di sebuah akhbar tempatan di dalam Bahasa Malaysia.

Sedangkan pada hari yang sama, akhbar berbahasa Inggeris telah menyiarkan kenyataan Editor bahawa Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN) telah menarik kembali larangan penerbitan dan pencetakan Ruangan Bahasa Malaysia Herald.

Yg dipertuan, saya ingin bertanya, sejak bila Herald dijual secara terbuka? Kenyataan beliau yang mengatakan, Herald menggunakan bahasa Kebangsaan untuk menyebarkan dakyah Kristian adalah tidak berasas sekali!
(yang dipertuan, i wish to ask you since when herald was sold openly? your statement that herald use the national language to proselytise makes no sense at all!)

Ini menunjukkan pemikiran yang sempit. Adakah Yg dipertuan pernah membeli atau terlihat Mingguan Katolik Herald di LCCT, di kedai buku atau di KLIA Sepang?
(this shows how narrow-minded you are. have you seen the herald sold at the LCCT, bookshop or KLIA sepang?)

Begitu juga dengan larangan KDN yang menyekat penyebaran pengetahuan di kalangan umat Kristian sendiri. Adakah membaca sekali Mingguan Katolik Herald, khasnya dalam Bahasa Kebangsaan, terus sahaja boleh masuk Kristian?
(is it that just by reading the herald in the national language, one will immediately become a christian?)

Sedangkan kita tahu, untuk menjadi seorang Katolik, seseorang itu wajib mengikuti kelas IKD selama setahun! Tanyalah mana-mana katekumen kita, rasanya mereka semua ingin menjadi pengikut Yesus kerana ‘mendapat panggilannya’.

Cuba baca perkongsian para katekumen atau baptisan baru, Mingguan Katolik Herald pada tahun-tahun sebelumnya, Tidak ada pula yang masuk Kristian kerana membaca The Herald?
(lucia said: here the letter writer is explaining that it is not that easy for one to become a catholic. when one wants to become a catholic, he/she has to attend classes for one year! the word ‘katekumen’ in english ‘cathecumens’ means those students taking classes. she said if you ask any of these cathecumens, none of them will tell you they want to convert because of reading the herald!)

Bagi saya, kenyataan Yg Dipertuan ABIM hanyalah sekadar kata-kata kosong! Kenyataan membabi buta seperti inilah yang mengguris hati umat Kristian dan menimbulkan kekeliruan umat Islam sendiri.

in the same issue, there is also another letter, which you can read from bob’s blog. in that letter, the writer asked "ARE WE, CHRISTIANS BEING TREATED AS A THIRD CLASS CITIZENS?’

Is "Allah" only for Islam and Muslims?
[No! It is for All Three Abrahamic Faiths.]
