hurray! herald got its permit!
good allah! at last! confirmed the herald got its publishing permit for the year2010.
remember about a month ago how the home ministry flip flop on the permit’s decision?
on 14 dec, the herald’s case of the use of the word ‘allah’ was heard in the high court. herald’s lawyer argue, among other things, that to ban herald from using the word ‘allah’ is unconstitutional.
indeed. why should one religion monopolise a or worst, copyright a word that everyone can use. of course you have heard it before, the govt. argued that if herald use ‘allah’, it might confuse the muslim… and with that, you have heard me repeating numerous times that this shows the govt does not have faith in their own fellow muslim.
now i at the hearing, we heard the lawyer representing the govt saying:
Senior federal counsel Mahamad Naser Disa suggested that the church’s “misunderstanding” and misuse of the word “Allah” would create confusion and raise religious tensions in the country.
see, the confusion again?… and add in ‘religious tnesion’!! whoa! just because the catholic church wants to use ‘allah’ which does not belongs to the muslim in malaysia, it will create racial tension? who is the one who is going to start the racial tension? your muslim breathren whom you have so little faith of them? see, again an insult to the muslim!
anyway, it seemes that the high court will come out with its decision only on 30 dec. hmm… i hope it will be a good new year’s gift – IF the court rules in favour of the catholic church. to all christians, and those who support the catholic church’s stand, let’s pray for the judge’s wise decision to allow the cathlic church the use of the word ‘allah’.
