raya open house at a big house

it might be too late to talk about raya open house? well i went to the open house on 23 oct, and on 24 and 25 no time to blog about it and then deepavali was approaching already too so out of respect for deepavali, i decided not to blog about it until deepavali is over.

the host of this raya open house was a couple who were MAFREL (malaysian for free and fair election) members. i got to meet them during the permatang pauh by-election MAFREL training sessions. they are cikgu aliasa and dr zasmani. they invited a number of MAFREL members. btw, dr zasmani was the one responsible for taking THIS photo during the permatang pauh by-election campaign – the photo that became so popular, spread to so many places, and the photo that, i believe, contributed a lot to anwar’s big win.

i went to their open house with 2 other MAFREL members, ong and howie. wow! when we reached their house, we were spellbound to note their house is so big! HUGE, in fact! really! i was shocked. it was huge big bungalow house at the corner of the end of the road. the living room itself is the size of our humble flat unit! imagine! think the size of the house is 5 or 6 times bigger than our flat.

ah they had nice real raya food prepared. see the first picture here (only show part of the food) – ketupat, rotil jala, lemang, satay, ayam – all good food that i like.

after our makan, dr zazmani took us on tour of their house. i took lots of pictures of their lovely house and would like to share a few here.

2nd picture shows the living room. the picture you see on the right, is the picture of the couple.

ah the plates you see at the 3rd picture were not found on the table… but hanging on the wall! this is a close up of the lovely antique decorative plates. the next picture shows where the plates are hanging – at a passageway after the living room, next to the dining hall, which you see at the following picture..

terima kasih to the friendly humble couple of cikgu aliasa and dr zasmani for the invitation. i enjoyed the food, i enjoy being in your big lovely house.
