umno penang confirmed (again!) they are racist

yep… when they backed ahmad ismail. we said he is racist, right? so when they backed him, they are racist too!

and if you read malaysiakini, at ahmad’s press conference, it was stated: "it was frequently punctuated by shouts of racial slurs and threats."

penang opposition leader, azhar ibrahim (the one instrumental in organising the umno protest at komtar right after election), said that the chinese reporter who misquoted ahmad ismail ought to be shot.

how did he know ahmad was telling the truth (that the reporter misquoted him)? maybe the reporter was only upholding the truth… as that was what the PM wants the media to do…. writing as she/he heard what ahmad said.

this is terrible. they always blame the media! always using the ‘misquoted by the media’ blame!

why blame the reporter in inciting racial hatred (both azhar and ahmad)? if ahmad didn’t say what he said, the reporter wouldn’t have reported it. you know the saying ‘no smoke without fire’. so ok if want to blame the reporter, ahmad should be blame too! azhar, ahmad should be shot too!! but of course that’s a big no to you since he is your own member (and not forgetting a big shot malay entrepreneur who is the big tow-kay of metroworks – a company where the PM has shares in it! read margeemar’s post).

when ahmad said he refuse to apologise and all the umno divisions agreed with him, this means, of course they are blatantly snubbing the PM and the DPM!!

didn’t the PM said ahmad’s view did not represent the view of umno and that ahmad didn’t meant what he said?

now that ahmad refused to apologise, he meant what he said!!

didn’t the DPM said "we apologise, umno apologises although it is not our statement but it is a statement made by one of our division leaders. it is totally unwarranted and does not reflect the position and the attitude of umno or the leadership of umno. we regret it very much,"

now that ahmad refused to apologise, doesn’t that made the DPM look like a fool?

oh, and can you believe it or not…. from the malaysian insider, ahmad  also warned other malay leaders not to hurt the malays. he said "The Malay Umno leaders also must not rush to appease the others and in turn hurt the Malays, do not let the Malays run away and go against us."

huh? ‘malay umno leaders’? he meant the two top men – the PM and the DPM, see!! he’s making both of them looking like fools!!

who is he anyway to speak for ‘the malays’? i’m sure not all malays share his opinion. he’s speaking for the umnoputera only! especially those umnoputera who had lined their pockets full!

in his actual press statement he used the words ‘jangan melatah’ on the ‘pemimpin-pemimpin tertinggi umno’!!!

whoa! i guess he dare to accuse the PM as being ‘melatah’ since the PM has a share in his company.

he said a lot more in his 16 pages (wow!) press statement, which you can access from  the blog of ‘penang views.

please read malaysiakini’s voxpop. there are many good comments there, like these 3 i reproduced here:

Watch out for more racial mischief from Umno extremists like Ahmad Ismail. It is imperative that Anwar goes all out to pre-empt this dangerous possibility which will rob him of his studious and painstaking efforts to take over the federal government by Sept16.

———-

Let’s help Anwar by not playing into Ahmad’s hands. We must not be manipulated into fighting with each other because of race and religion. Umno must not be given a chance to think it can go on manipulating the rakyat for its benefit.

———-

Umno’s tyrannical and racist dictatorship and their doctrines have poisoned the minds of lots of decent Malay folk.I

the last one, i gotta fully agree and comment a bit. umno’s rule all the while had been nothing but racial politics. racial, racial. they thrive on racial poltics… what else can they harp on? it’s either racial or religious only.

this one, coming from a malay, suhaimi said, also from malaysiakini’s voxpop….

Under the Anwar-Guan Eng government, the Malays in Pulau Pinang will lose everything, their land, their jobs and their ketuanan. The Malays will become subservient and hamba (slaves) to the Chinese.

…. i reproduced only part. go to malaysiakini to read more (voxpop is free!). it talks about umno creating the fear in people if anwar joins guan eng as the government. why so racist?

this brings to mind the umno protest at komtar. something similiar to that that was also what they had been saying. guan eng was only 1 week old and they accused him of marginalisng the malays!! imagine! what about yours – umno – rule of 50 years? all these 50 years of umno’s rule and yet there are poor malays and they were accusing the 1 week old government. so stupid!!

at this point, i would like to point you to the blog of tulang besi of  ‘malaysia waves‘.  he mentioned about ahmad’s so called ‘historical fact’…. ahmad was saying he was only talking about some history when he mentioned about chinese being immigrants (thus not being racial).

Instead of questioning the status of the Chinese, Ahmad Ismail should instead question why UMNO Penang has failed to alleviate the economic status of the Malays in Penang despite being in power for the last 50 years?

Do we see significant presence of Malay business establishments in the downtown Georgetown? How many Penang Malays that are successful businessmen as well? How many Malays are actually self sufficient economically that they do not require help from the government for projects and contracts?

The biggest question would be has UMNO been successful in developing the Malay’s economic attainment free from the practice of corruption, nepotism and collusion?

Such is the measure of UMNO’s sucsess in the development of the Malay’s economic condition in Penang for the last 50 years.

Then again, if the Malays are properly guided and improved economically in the last 50 years, I am sure the current racial incitement adopted by Ahmad Ismail would not have been effective.

ahh! tulang besi hit the nail on the head!

tulang besi’s’ posting to me is very good, thus, i will reproduced it here in full.

UMNO is resroting to their normal tactic, inciting racial hate and slurs.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, an UMNO’s Division Chief has decided to utter “historical facts” with regards to the status of Chinese (and Indians) in this country. And, confident as he is, he even organized a press conference flanked with UMNO division chiefs from all over Penang.

In the press conference, he made a challenge:

“"If the Chinese can question the special rights of the Malays, the Malays can also question the citizenship of the Chinese."

What is weird is that no one from the Chinese, Indian or even Malays are questioning the Malay Special Rights clause in the Federal Constitution. Even in the Bar Council forum held a few months ago, the panelist agreed that the Social Contract is binding. In spite of the controversy preceeding the forum, the forum could not agree on the status of the Social Contract, whether it’s binding or not.

I feel that the main motivation behind all these shenanigans can be listed as follows:

  1. People like Ahmad Ismail requires the free publicity for the upcoming UMNO elections
  2. It is no more than an expression of anger and frustration

allow me to dwell on point b. a little bit more.

As I have been informed, all over the Pakatan state, UMNO contractors who use to thrive under the BN government are now suffering. They are no more receiving direct award contracts and as such they cannot turn back to practicing their “subcontracting” practices of over value contracts they use to receive on a constant basis.

As such, now most of these UMNO contractors are jobless and surviving on their savings. As their savings deplete, they are becoming very agitated and not to mention pressed. So, a desperate man resorts to desperate measures. In this case, their desperation is expressed in the form of inciting racial tension.

If one were to look upon this from an objective perspective, one will see that it is nothing more than an act of provocation done by a desperate group of people trying to cling to the country’s wealth.

Therefore, my advice is to just ignore him as no one will actually care about them. They are slowly dying and their kind is already on their way towards oblivion.

ok i think we should ignore this ahmad. if he refuse to apologise, fine. what the hell i care now! all the better if he refuse to apologise as it further exposed the racism in him more! also the way he and all the other umnoputera goes about reacting to this will only serve to make people more to want to see umno being kicked out as the federal government!! CANNOT TAHAN THIS UMNO ALREADY!! let pakatan take over!

actually all along i had been a bit apprehensive of 916 – of pakatan taking over but now due to this recent ahmad ismail incident….. not only because of his racial remark but also other stuffs like he was purposely trying to stir up trouble, the weak PM who dare not chastisied him, what tulang besi wrote and so on….. made me so angry :mad so i wish now pakatan will take over!!!

916! 916! 916!

916! DOWN WITH UMNO! DOWN WITH UMNO! 916!.

reminder: please do not forget to attend the 916 forum at han chiang, penang today ok. i’ll be there, so see you there!
