mansion stay for orphans… ??
now you see it…
now you see it more!
… because the owner is an UMNOputera bigshot.
… because there are two laws in our country – one for UMNO, one for others.
yes remember the zakaria mansion that was illegally constructed that became an issue last year? how even though this man had done wrong, his own UMNO kaki (klang) backed him up? how the UMNO supreme council after a meeting decided not to take action against him?
the first picture shown here was taken when his mansion was partly completed, when it was found out he did not submit building plans in oct. last year (and which i blog about here). the second picture was taken from the star . here is a montage picture done by whatalulu.
The mansion has 21 bathrooms and 16 bedrooms, where his 11 children would occupy one each.
Besides this, the mansion has a swimming pool, several gazebos, an orchard, a two-hole mini golf course, a VIP room, three living rooms, a prayer room, an office, a store room, two rooms for maids, a dining room, a wet kitchen and a dry kitchen.
His master bedroom, which has a changing room and a jacuzzi, is bigger than a low-cost house.
The floors are high quality marble while the ceiling is fitted with plaster ceiling, decorated panels and crystal chandeliers.
phew! i i didn’t know a UMNOputera councillor paycheck can let you build such a mighty luxurious mansion. note the bold part i highlighted – his master bedroom alone is bigger than a low-cost house! imagine!! i guess the size of his toilet would then equal to the size of a small tiny cramped room a poor family of 4, whom we, the society of st vincent de paul, adopted, lives in.
well this news of his luxurious mansion did not really blow me over as much as this news (but related to his mansion) from the new straits times:
In preparation for his move from his current home, which lies just a stone’s throw away from the mansion, he hosted about 500 orphans to a prayer session and dinner on Tuesday night.
About 100 of them stayed at the mansion, dubbed "Istana Zakaria", for the night. When contacted yesterday, Zakaria said 30 orphans slept in the master bedroom and the rest in other rooms.
He said he wanted to honour the children and also to allow them the opportunity to stay in luxury.
"When and where else will they get such a chance?" he said, adding that the children were from Baling, Kedah. He handed out duit Raya, kain pelikat and batik to the children.
"allow them to stay in luxury"?? – hello mr zakaria, but that was just for one day. after that, they’ll be back to their orphanage, staying in a shared room or possibly dorms – so what’s the point??
"when and where else will they get the chance?" – where else? do you mean only you alone have such a luxury mansion? or do you mean only you was so kind enough to open your mansion (but only one day) to the orphans? what’s the use of letting the orphans enjoy luxury for just one day, when what he should do is to turn the mansion into an orphanage and let the orphans stay there forever!!
after all, it was an illegal structure but because of his status, it was not torn down and was allowed to be completed. grr!! so mad! :mad :mad
note: zorro has a very interesting picture post on this issue.
