all the hype about NCER

is NCER going to become the in word nowadays? especially in the north of course. well, NCER stands for ‘northern corridor economic region’ –  a government initiative to speed up economic growth and elevate income levels in perlis, kedah, penang and northern perak.

i hardly blog on the economy at all as it is not my cup of tea. as you know, mostly i blog on the socio political matters, the government and especially to bash UMNO! haha. since NCER involve penang, my beloved hometown (despite all the criticisms people hurl at it), i just thought i will blog a little on the NCER.

bernama news started off with:

Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today launched the masterplan for the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER), a development initiative that is expected to draw investments worth RM177 billion from 2007 to 2025.

wow! RM177 billion! so this is going to be a mega project eh?

i can’t help wonder the timing of the launching of NCER… when election is looming ahead. is this a bait to lure the people, especially of course business men/women to vote for barisan nasional (BN)?

you know lah, it is a known fact that most penang people have the mentality to vote opposition for parliament but BN for state. this is because mainly of the economy. only BN they said will provide the economy stability. now with NCER as a gift from the present ruling coalition, it might made the public all the more want to vote them back!

no good! no good! folks, don’t be fooled! don’t forget all the antics these BN (esp. UMNOputra) people had been up to. vote opposition! yes i know, opposition won’t win but at least deny them the 2/3 majority!
