tudung – a must for convocation in IIU

well the report stated that non muslim are not forced to wear tudung to lectures but they still have to wear it (not a full covered tudung though but a scarf) during convocation.

===============
my tudung post refers.

so now it’s official. higher education minister, shafie mohd. salleh said that the tudung is the official attire of the international islamic university (IIU) during convocation.

lukily, he added:
“for non-muslims, they are not required to wear “tudung litup” (a cloth covering the whole head) but scarves will do.”

well as i made a comment in my previous post and also in aizuddin’s blog, if the rule suggest non muslim must wear tudung, so be it… why all the hoo haa?

as i said, when one enter the U, knowing it to be an ISLAMIC U, one should know what one is getting into (esp. knowing in our country, islam is the official religion). of course logic tells you at once that as a woman, you shouldn’t wear sphagetti strap or low-cut t-shirt in the campus. well take that logic a bit deeper, let the word ‘ISLAMIC U’ sink into you, and you should be sane enough to agree that it is ok to wear a tudung during convocation.

UPDATED the star’s report:
“non muslim IIUM students need not wear tudung.”
