inciting ? with a mere proposal?
the minute i notice that utusan melayu choose to highlight MCA’s appeal for more chinese schools as part of their memorandum for the 9th malaysian plan, i smell trouble coming… from the UMNOputeras. there are 7 proposals in the memo, and why utusan choose to highlight this, you know, i know. we all know.
and why those UMNOmonkeys er… UMNOputeras like khairy, deputy UMNO youth chief and UMNO vice-president muhyiddin yassin objected, you and i know.
“national schools are not only for the malays but also for chinese and indians. we want national schools to be the students’ first choice. for this
reason, we disagree with MCA’s proposal.” so said khairy, also the son-in-law of our PM.
and suhaimi ibrahim who is from malay students union (GPMS) also said:
“MCA’s proposal only benefits one group. they should work to strengthen vision schools that are more in line with national aspiration.”
hey, excuse me, mr suhaimi, didn’t you yourself said it is MCA’s proposal? and MCA stands for ‘malaysian chinese association’ so of course naturally their proposals would have to benefit that one group – the chinese.
vision school? the concept where school children ‘eat, play and study together’? ‘a vision school is where a national, a Chinese and a Tamil school are housed under one roof and pupils share a common canteen and playground so that ‘there is greater integration.’
how can the children of different races eat together if ahmad doesn’t want to sit together with ah chong who brings his pork sausage? how could siti play high jump with devi if siti refuse to wear shorts? soon there’ll be rules like pork not allowed in vision schools or all girls must wear baju kurung.
vision school will be possible only if we don’t have those UMNOputeras insisting islam is the national religion, ehshrined in the constitution, blah blah blah, just like what they (actually not them exactly but those unions) did when the bar council propose the interfaith commission.
in the meantime, pak lah had said that there should not be seperate stream in education system when asked to comment on MCA’s proposal.
