hundreds killed in haj stampede

from reuters.

and bernama.

i am very sad to learn of this incident. why is it they never learned, as it seems this tragedy happened quite often. according to the reuters report, last year 14 people were trampled to death and in 2001, 35 people died.

can’t the authorities in saudi arabia do something about this? i’m sorry i may not be well versed at all in this stone throwing thing at the pillar, so what i suggested may be not right or sound silly. if the pilgrims wanted to throw stones at the pillars, can’t the authorities erect some kind of enclosure round the pillars and allow one pilgrims in line to go in to throw the stones? i don’t know lah… i just feel so sad and troubled at the thought of pilgrims dying when they were there to do some thing ‘holy’.
