what agenda from pak lah
it seems that now the 2 most hot topics going round blogs or even at the kopi-tiam are the one on what one PAS preacher said in a mosque re: nurulhuda’s rape and murder, and on pak lah’s 100 days coming up issue.
after some pondering, ok i would like to blog on the latter.
already i had made several comments on jeff ooi’s blog re: this subject here.
if you read the star’s front-page news with the big headline where pak lah screamed “it’s my agenda“, it mentioned 6 major initiatives pak lah had taken over from our ex PM, as follows:
·IMPROVING the government delivery system;
·CALLING for a mindset change among Malaysians, moving away from the physical landmarks (the ‘hardware’) of development to the ‘software’ part of development with emphasis on human capital;
* ZERO tolerance policy against corruption;
* REVITALISATION of the agriculture sector, including co-operatives, so that it could be a dynamic force of change;
* REFORM of the education system; and
* A ‘QUIET’ foreign policy which emphasises on making friends with everyone.
what do you think? had these been carried out? were they successful? had these been just talk only, initiatives taken but nothing much done?
and do you remember during pak lah’s maiden speech, he had pledges democracy, pledges crackdown on corruption and vowed to be tough on terrorism.
well, had we seen democracy during these going to be 100 days of his PMship? if you asked keadilan, they would certainly said no since a demo that they planned to stage to ‘test the new PM’ had seen the same result as our ex PM.
what about corruption? pak lah seems to be talking so much on corruption. as in the star’s interview, he mentioned that fighting corruption is a priority. indeed. had he been trying to fight corruption? i feel that he had all along only talk on corruption within the govt. servants but why did he not look at his own cabinet ministers??
