first custodial death in MACC!!

the malaysian anti corruption commission (MACC) these days are so hard-working. first they decided to question and investigate 8 pakatan rakyat (PR) reps. in selangor. now they said they will be investigating ALL reps. in selangor. well, yesterday teoh beng hock (picture), the political secretary of seri kembangan assemblyman ean yong hian wah, was taken in for questioning by the MACC yesterday at its 14th floor office in shah alam. he was taken in at 5.00pm and said to be released at 3.45 am. woo! 10 hours of questioning? MACC so hard-working, working right through the night?

At a press conference, the MACC director of investigations Datuk Mohd Shukri Abdul said Teoh was questioned from 5pm yesterday to 3.45am and was released soon after.

However, Teoh apparently said he was tired and so he rested on a settee in the lobby. He was seen sleeping on the settee at 6am.

At about 1.30pm, Shukri said, they heard that a body had been found on the 5th floor of the adjacent building and when one of the MACC officers went to investigate, he realised it was one of their witnesses.

they finished questioning him at 3.45am. he was seen sleeping on the settee at 6.00am. what was he doing between 3.45am and 6.00am? then MACC found his body at 1.30pm. what? was he sleeping from 6.00am to 1.30pm? and why was he in custody for 10 hours? so many questions MACC ought to answer!

our ‘bodoh bodoh bodoh!’ minister, nazri, cautioned us not to blame MACC. how can we not blame MACC when a young healthy man just died like that after being in MACC for hours?? even if we assumed teoh did not jumped (commit suicide), then he must have fell… and what made him fell, or rather who was responsible for his fall? MACC for sure!!! whatever it is, MACC must accept responsibility for his death.

it is so ridiculous to hear nazri said:

“I was informed by MACC earlier that he (Teo) was released yesterday (early this morning).”

“Then he should have gone home (instead)….and how would we know that he would jump out of the building?” the de facto law minister added.

rightly, he should be moron of the year!

ok, as one commenter in the malaysian insider said – what’s happening to our county??? healthy normal man going in for questioning at the police station and now at MACC, came out DEAD!!

why are the MACC so free to harass PR assemblyman, especially those from DAP when they dare not touch umnoputera? the PR had been the selangor govt. for just over a year, and all of a sudden, MACC want to investigate ALL the assemblymen in regards to how they spend their allocations. when barisan nasional (BN) was the govt., did we hear of MACC being hard-working, wanting to investigate ALL the BN assemblymen? NO! why was it MACC did not get to work at all to investigate khir toyo’s corruption cases – so many of them .e.g the disneyland trip and now his RM24 miliion mansion. what does this tell? MACC, like the police is not impartial at all. MACC, like the police kow-tow to UMNO.

it’s so sad to think that the two most important institutions, MACC and the police are not independent at all. they exists to serve their political masters. sad. so sad. 🙁
