ORIGINAL POST:

especially to our CJ (citizen journalism) coordinator, maran, who had been with us all the 6 days. kabilan once mentioned us as his ‘kids’. haha. true. he’s like a father taking care of us, seeing to our needs during those 6 days advanced training (not forget the 8 weekends basic training in jan. and feb.).

malaysiakini has a nice 3-storey office. our training was on the 3rd floor. everyday the training started at 10.00am and usually ended at around 8.00pm. not all the days we were seated in the room of course as some of the days we went out on the streets for assignments. we were divided into groups for our assignments.

one day we went to masjid jamek for ‘vox pop’ (voice of the people) to get people’s opinion on what they think of the rosmah’s perempuan puaka’s videos. unfortunately our group did not manage to get anyone to talk except a taxi driver! most when mentioned the name rosmah refused to talk about it.

another day we went to dataran merdeka to take still shots of the sultan abdul samad building and the dataran merdeka. we had to do a narration voice-over on to the video shots. i got the video shots from shan, my group member and i try to edit it to put in my voice and you can see the result below. don’t laugh as i know it is badly done since i actually haven’t try video editing before. i did… when i was in class but i got lost and ended up not knowing how to do. well that day i try my best to do this simple editing. i know my narration (voice) is terrible. was nervous doing it too and some words were not pronounced properly. actually i laughed at myself when i heard myself mentioning ‘parade’ and ‘dome’. haha.

the final day assignment was as i mentioned follow malaysiakini’s journalists to cover the news of mohan singh’s last farewell as i had blog yesterday. the video shot by 2 of our trainees was up already.

all in all i had a good fulfilling time as managed to learn a lot, not forgetting meeting new friends – citizen journalists of other states like KL and sarawak.

thank you very much to malaysiakini for giving me this opportunity.

(oops. the video in AVI format is too big to post here. i gotta convert it first. will do it later)
