they sleep on the streets

watch this video. it’s part of our citizen/video journalism project (voluntarily). i was the one who interviewed the indian muslim man, jalil. five of us citizen journalist (lilian, jimmy, lim, koh) were out on the street at 11.00pm to look for homeless people, with the help of vincent, a welfare officer from the lighthouse drop-in centre. our trainer, a malaysiakini staff, maran was with us too and he was the one who filmed the video. i think the video was 1/2 hour… or more but the clip you see here is 10 mins, edited by lilian. lilian had also sent the clip to the CM and YB phee from the welfare department. we want to make the government aware of these people out on the street.

we are going to follow-up on this homeless issue. the welfare officer from the lighthouse, vincent, interviewed here is my colleague, and just 3 days ago i had blog about our lunch for the homeless/street people at the lighthouse.
