those arrested tells their stories

first and foremost, read sunny lim’s interesting account with lots of pictures.

ambrose poh, one of those three i bailed, wrote of his account in malaysiakini’s letter section. his story also appears in malaysia today.

in malaysiakini, there was also an article where bk ong got mad that his video camera had not been returned. you can also read about it in the letter’s section if you are not a subsriber to malaysiakini.

there are a few other stories from famous persons like tony pua and lau weng san (and perhaps lots ofthers) i’ll link them later.

the herald, the catholic weekly, of 16 nov. featured about fr. paulino’s arrest at the back page. i was amused to read that the police asked him if he was the ‘ketua kumpulan’ (leader of the group) of the rally.. the police must be one who can’t tell a priest’s cassock from a… terrorist?…. he must have thought fr. paulino is from some groups like JI??? then another asked him "beberapa anak you ada?" (how many children do you have?). another ignorant police! not knowing he is a priest, and if a priest, surely got no children. maybe the police heard the detainees calling him "father". however, fr. paulino had a sense of humour, for he answered "kira-kira satu ribu" (about a thousand). well, he was not telling a lie – his  satu ribu children are all his parishioners and church members! yes, many of our priests always refer to their parishioners as their children.

ok tomorrow, i’ll update this post with more links. read my account of  the night at the police station.
