flip flop from the home ministry

i was surprised to read in malaysiakini that the home ministry had suddenly decided to renew the permit of makkal osai. remember on 17 april i had blog about it being banned? the minister was very adamant that permit will not be given. now suddenly he decided to renew makkal osai’s permit.

what bought about this about-turn? maybe it has something to do with his decision to grant permit to suara keadilan to go public on 21 april.

well of course we are happy that makkal osai has got its permit but it’s just strange how the home ministry work – flip flopping like the PM! the world will also be laughing at the home ministry!

now that suara keadilan has been given permit, how about PAS’s harakah and DAP’s rocket? these two still have to be for internal use only? then all 3 parties should come out with a ‘pakatan rakyat’ paper.

it’s good to hear that selangor MB had demanded from the radio station to give them a spot on the radio – now how about a spot on TV? yeah yeah… i know i may sound like ‘giving you an inch, you want a foot’ but this is a fact! the opposition should have equal access to the media!

all along i had been using ‘no freedom of voice of expression’ as one of the major sign of lack of democracy in our country. BN should allow DAP, PAS, PKR a spot on national radio and national TV and to have their own paper published. that will be a sign of allowing democracy.

as if it is not bad enough that opposition does not have that privilege, the media choose to demonize the opposition! luckily now there is suara keadilan which might be able to counter-attack whatever the BN’s demonisation and propaganda.
