retreat at richmond bungalow

the retreat i mentioned was a relaxing one. it was something rather unexpected though but good in its own way. there were 11 of us staff, plus the facilitator.

penang hill had change a lot since i was last there. er… but i was there the last time long long ago so of course it had change. think it was near 10 years i have not been to penang hill.

first thing that greeted me that was so obvious is of course the entrance, as picture here:

this is the bungalow, ‘richmond’ we stayed in:

it’s not a big bungalow, unlike the ‘southview’ bungalow which i had stayed in many years back. i guess you can say it is a 3 stars bungalow whereas southview is 5 stars.

on the left where you see rows of windows, those were the corridors where the rooms are situated. only 3 rooms with 2 single beds. though the bungalow is not big but the compound and surrounding area is very big and spacious. here is a picture of front compound that shows the entrance road.

the field here is also where we play games! yeah despite a retreat which is suppose to be all quiet and reflection, we have lots of time for games. we became like children again when we played lots of children games like ‘ka li tow’ and ‘mother hen’.

there was on day 1. on day 2, we played the ‘charade’ game, where a team had to guess the name of movies through actions of a person. we laughed so much at this game. it was really funny to see how our colleagues became silent actors and also funny to hear all sorts of guesses.

indeed i had a great time in penang hill, spent with my colleagues, with some silent retreat, sharing and games!
