so tomorrow the altantuya trial begins. hopefully we won’t get to see any twists and turns. the trial had been postponed twice. originally it was scheduled on then postponed to 4 june. I was so excited at that time and blog about it but then, not only me but lots of people were in for a disappointment when the trial was postponed to 18 june, ie tomorrow.

hopefully tomorrow everything will get going and the trial of the year will begin. all eyes will be on malaysia then, and hopefully this will sort of encourage our malaysian court to be fair, accountable and transparent.

alantuya’s father, shariibuu is not satisfied with the way malaysia is handling the case though. why? first of all because of the postponment of course. then he complained that the press did not report most of his statements. of course… since the press are being controlled by the government. well, as most bloggers would tell you – don’t read the paper … read blogs/the web for news. yes indeed, if you want to know news of the altantuya’s case, especially on shariibuu’s statement, the best blog i would suggest is susan loone’s.  

susan had announced about some NGO groups organizing a ‘meet mr shariibuu’ event and encouraged bloggers to attend. the report that followed. you should go and read about them, if you haven’t yet. there are videos too.

i would  like to highlight some interesting information revealed by shariibuu.

he said altantuya knows too much. hmm… too much of what? something to do with submarine?

he also cleared up the confusion where some people think altantuya had become a muslim and had a muslim name ‘aminah’. he said altantuya had a pet name ‘amina’, yes, which in mongolian means ‘my life, my own’. definetely altantuya did not become a muslim.

he was not too happy that the media potrayed her as a prostitute or ‘bad person, and he revealed that altantuya had never been a model. remember how when her murder was first made known? all the media, and bloggers too mentioned her as a model.

what was more interesting was that shariibuu also said that there was a contract between a malaysian newspaper and a mongolian newspaper to write negative stories on altantuya. whoa! mongolian newspaper too?

another thing is that he said there was no sexual relationship between altantuya and baginda razak. hmm… interesting. how come baginda did admit he had an affair with altantuya? did altantuya had an affair with someone else… or no one at all, as his father mentioned?

well i hope that the truth and nothing but the truth will be revealed during the trial.
