mat damn illegal racers
yeah right!… or should it be “get the f**k off the roads, you damn illegal racers!”
well, according to the north seberang prai district OCPD asst comm wan abdullah tuanku, branding illegal racers as mat rempit has emboldened them to carry out their activities. he said that the mat rempits… er… the damn illegal racers are happy with this name ‘rempit’ and take pride in such attention. i suppose this give them the license to break the law more!
well if they take pride in the name ‘rempit’, how about the name ‘cemerlang’? in case you don’t remember, it was putera UMNO who was glorifying the illegal racers when they embarked on a project to ‘reform’ them, and gave them the name ‘mat cemerlang’.
blame it on UMNO putera than for glorifying the illegal racers. once there were even some talk about building racing tracks fr them. then UMNO putera also had planned a huge gathering of mat illegal racers in january but i think it had been canceled as the police told them (rightly so!) “you are on your own.” imagine gathering hundreds of mat illegal racers who are nothing more than hooligans. they are getting bolder each day – even resort to raping, and no fear of police too when they threw stones at a police station and chased after a police car.
after UMNO putera, next we have this deputy information minister, ahmad zahid, who seemed to look at these group of mat illegal racers as a ‘youth group’ (or youth community/society) when he mentioned:
“All this while we have seen the Mat Rempit in a negative light. I hope the komuniti bestari can look at their positive side and come up with activities for them.â€
what?? negative light? of course! they are illegal racers, if you don’t know. illegal. and they do stuffs that break the law, stuffs that frightened people, like surrounding people in a car and robbed them. what in the world had they done to let us look at them in a positive light? tell us, mr deputy information minister.
i suppose with this kind of talk from the minister, it would encourage putera UMNO to glorify the mat illegal racers by planning activities for them. however, it is good to learn that the police are not supporting putera UMNO’s rebranding of the mat illegal racers.
note:
interesting letter from malaysiakini to read again, if you like me, wonder why putera UMNO so keen on rebranding the illegal racers.
note2 – OT talk:
