UMNO supremo rules no action on zakaria
goodness gracious me! :shock what we expect will happen, really happened.
at the UMNO supreme council meeting yesterday, our dear PM, badawi said that they only advise him to resign as a councillor but NO further action would would be taken against him.
He, however, said no action would be taken at party level on Zakaria’s positions as Klang Umno chief and Port Klang state assemblyman.
“As a division head, he can provide good leadership to the division,” he told a press conference
goodness gracious me! :shock good leadership? one who arrogantly and blatantly broke the law can be a good leader? oh well, i guess this is because zakaria’s own anak-anak (klang UMNO division members) had voiced their support for him earlier, though they know he did wrong. no, no, they didn’t said he was wrong. they said “all he did was that he failed to submit the building plans”. see? he failed to submit the building plans but he did no wrong.
When pointed out that Zakaria’s action had tarnished Umno’s image, Abdullah said he had explained his mistakes.
“His explanation has been accepted. So, in this matter, he has no problems,” he said.
the key word here is ‘mistakes’, my dear PM. mistakes. zakaria made a mistake… a serious one at that and yet no action was taken against him.
so what? one can break the law, then later on when caught, explain why one broke the law, throw in some tears, and he can escape with no action at all? how nice. oh i forgot, that, that one person must be an UMNOputera lah, not a MIC or MCA (though supposedly brothers and sisters of BN components), then things will work out fine for you even if you break the law. UMNO supremo said so. that’s UMNO’s law for you. that’s right, the country has 2 sets of laws – one for UMNO, and one for non UMNO.
ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the bolehland that has turned into UMNOland. semuanya boleh for UMNO!

extract from the press conference Q&A, taken from malaysiakini/beritamalaysia:
* Datuk Zakaria has created an embarrassment to Umno and the government. Why is no action taken on his political position?
This is a government related matter and it is sufficient that he is not reappointed as a member of the (local) council. His transgression is an issue that has to do with his membership in the local council. It’s confined to that. It’s not a party matter.
[…]
* Datuk Seri, on the issue of Datuk Zakaria, other than the stripping of his post as a member of the council, what other actions will be taken against him?
No other actions. We will just advice him.
* But Datuk Seri, doesn’t it affect the image of Umno (by allowing) someone to build his house without submitting plans.
He has already explained his transgressions. And the explanation that was provided is accepted. And in this matter there are no other problems raised. But the decision was made by the party so that he would no longer be reappointed as a member of the council.
