emit asia (malaysia) is not profesionnal

at the april PC fair i had mentioned i spent a lot, which include a subscription of readers’ digest (at discount of 70%). that was on 9 april. the receipt from emit malaysia (as seen above, with my details blacked out of course), stated to wait 6 – 8 weeks for delivery.

well, that would be say 8 weeks, by early june, i should receive my subscription… but i did not. being too busy, i had overlooked the subscription until somewhere middle of july, i suddenly realise about this subscription order of mine from emit malaysia.

emit2.jpgso i called up the salesman in charge who attended to me during the PC fair, a nicholas leow (his name card can be seen on left). he had forgotten all about the order (huh? like that also got one ah), so he asked me to fax the receipt to him. i did… but after 2 or 3 days, no reply from him so i called him to enquire and he said he did not receive the fax (though the fax machine i use registered it had been sent successfully), so asked me to fax again. i did. again no response from him after the fax. i called from my handphone to his handphonea few times and there was no reply. finally, i did manage to get him and asked “you received the fax now?” he replies in the affirmative, so i continued ask “so how?”, and he said he will check and get back to me.

yeah you got it right, he did not get back to me of course. so i try calling him again, and again though i try many times (with my handphone), still cannot get him (i did try his office’s no too). i figure he might wanted to avoid my phone call so i use my office phone to call him, at his handphone and he did picked up the call. so i said “so mr leow, how now?” and can you believe it what he did? he hung up on me! he said “how ah” then plop! phone dead! i was so mad. so i try to call him again after 15 mins, no answer…. after 2 hrs, i called him, no answer too. ahh… i knew then he was avoiding my phone call.

next course of action – i called the office and managed to speak to the manager. actually before this, the several times when i called the office, many times, there were no answer at all. it’s like thier office staff not around most of the time. the first time when i got this mr tanmr leong, i didn’t know he was the manager but he did say he will checked abd see for me and remarked that it was not right for mr leow to avoid my phone calls. however… oh how i hate the phrase ‘check and see’… as expected after that phone call, he did not get back to me, so again i had to call the office. this time when a lady answered i told her i wish to speak to mr tanmr leong first, and when she said mr tanmr leong not in, i said i wish to speak to the manager, it was then she told me mr tanmr leong is the manager.

again, it took several times for me to get through emit malaysia to finally get mr tanmr leong. mr tanmr leong gave some excuse of how they overlook my order or something like that, and said they will give me a complimentary copy sort of like an apology from them (huh? why no give me box of choc instead like what jeff ooi got when he complained about maxis). finally at beginning of august, i received the readers’ digest.

well, i hope they will continue to send me all 12 copies… er… 13 including the complimentary copy (sob. no choc) throughout the year, because looking at how they handle my order, especially the salesman, nicholas leow, it will be no surprise if something went wrong!
