attended yvy’s wedding yesterday! it was great!

just a quick post to put up one photo (the only decent looking one out of the few others that i took) of yvy’s wedding at sunway hotel in prai.

this photo shows her and her hubby, ted, at their dining table. i will write more later (with some other photos) as now i have to go to bed as need to wake up at 5.00am!

yeah, so the lady in her cozy little corner finally got hitched on 12 august. she had sent me the invitation card in early july and had made sure that i attended her wedding by emailing me and sms me. why, the sweet lady had even gone to make transport arranagment for me when i told her i can’t go because of transport problem. she gave me pras (centipede) tel. no and asked me to contact him for transport but though i try numerous times, cannot get to contact pras. seemed that it was an old number! anyway, though i can’t get transport, i manage on my own as i told myself by hook or by crook i got to get to her wedding. after all, she’s a dear friend and soon she’ll migrate overseas and i can’t see her anymore! yeah, by hook or by crook, i did manage to get there and back… via 4 kinds of transport! first by bus to the ferry terminal, then board the ferry of course, and when i was at the butterworth side, look for a taxi to take me to sunway hotel, the venue of the wedding. then after dinner, i got a lift in cmos‘s car to go home. see, yvy, i’ll climb the highest mountain to go to your wedding. hehe. just exaggerating, don’t mind me.

the wedding mass in church was at the kulim church at 3.30pm. i do wanted to go for the mass but i had to miss it as i was at work. so i only went to the dinner in butterworth at 7.30pm. when i reached there, it was 7.50pm and i thought i was late but surprisingly i found out that at my table there was no one at all. i was there all alone for about 10 mins until cmos arrived. then a young couple came whom i don’t know and later on when the 2nd dish was served, pras and bunny wunny came. i was on the lookout for jeremy as he had said he will be attendiing but he didn’t turned up. so our table had only 6 persons.
it was a nice wedding with good food and good music. yep, the band ‘sweet memories’ was very good. the songs the singer (an indian man) sang were all oldies which i can relate to. he also sang one hindu song (the famous kuch kuch kota hai – hope i got the spelling right) and one mandarin song (or was it hokkien? he spoke in hokkien though. the song i can’t catch it mandarin or hokkien… and don’t know what song!).

oh there were dances too! wow! this is the first time i attending a wedding dinner with dances. first the couple started the dance then the others joined in. the first dance was waltz and after some courses of food, the couple were asked to dance the twist!

at the above picture, you see the couple twisting thier bodies to the rhythm of the music. at left you could see the singer belting out chubby checker’s ‘the twist’.

another shot of the happy couple twisting away. unfortunately ted could not be seen here as some photographer suddenly got into my way! you can only see the back of yvy in her lovely green gown that expose her back, showing her cool tattoos! (on the nape of the neck).
there was a 5 mins. video presentation showing pictures of yvy and ted from childhood to adult. lovely presentation. enjoy seeing the cute pictures of them as children!

here are some other pictures i took. most of them are not so clear since it was taken in a dark place. me no expert photographer, don’t know how to do the adjusting.

this picture shows the couple after the traditional cake cutting and toasting, with ted giving a speech.

yvy wedding4.jpg a picture with me trying to get a shot together with the couple but (courtesy of cmos being the photographer) they were too busy to pose properly with me. thank god though i got the shot of both of them (as posted earlier) clearly.

all in all it was a wonderful wedding dinner with great music, good company and good entertainment (the dances!). i wish yvy and ted all the best in their future undertakings as they begin life together as a married couple.
