racism is alive
now, why ain’t i surprise to learn of this – ‘racism rife in malaysia’s melting pot’.
this was the result of a telephone survey (among 1200 malaysians) conducted by independent merdeka centre for opinion research.
in the survey, they also found out that negative racial stereotyping is very much alive indeed. e.g.
‘malays are lazy’
‘chinese are greedy’
‘indians cannot be trusted’
so what’s all this blah blah stuff of malaysia being a multi-racial country and they live in harmony with each other, we heard so often, especially from our esteemed ministers. this survey unmask the real malaysia, hidden behind ‘a facade of unity and peace’ (quote from the article – first paragraph)… though some might not be convinced as the survey covers only 1200 malaysians, while there are 25 million people in malaysia!
well, i don’t need a survey to convince me – whether with 1200 malaysians or 12000 malaysians. through what i hear and see with with my own ears/eyes what’s been happening around, i know racism is rife in our bolehland. as i said you don’t need to look far, just look at your ministers, look at the going-on in parliament.
of course when talking about racism, something that is a close cousin of racism that starts with ‘a’ and end with ‘d’ (9 letters), spring into mind… yes, it’s here… but for that i had better seal my lips and say no more (er… tape up my fingers and type no more?).
