heat trans mousepad
ok. nothing better to blog so blog on the mousepad that i had just bought.
(actually today feel tired to talk of political, social and current issues)
i had been using the A4 tech wireless optical mouse for a long time, and i understand that for optical mouse, if using ordinary mousepad, better to have a layer of white paper over it as optical mouse moves better on white surface. so when i use my mouse with the mousepad, i used a white typing paper over it but this paper kept slipping… or turning black! so i wonder if there is a specially made mousepad for optical mouse. well when i went to my regular computer shop supplies yesterday to buy some ink cartridge this ‘heat trans mousepad’ on display caught my eye. first time i came across that phrase anyway. i see the price tag at RM10 but i was offered RM8 so i bought it! they had only 3 designs, and this design (pic above) was the one i picked.
the mousepad is the standard size. it is very soft and it can be folded; when unfolded no crease of course and spring back to its original size. i suppose it can function as a good ‘travelling mousepad’. ahh… but people who travel use notebook, so don’t need a mousepad. still… it’s flexible enough for you to push in anywhere you want if you decided to take it along wherever you go.
funny at the website, the four features stated (with squarish abstract drawing) are anti-slippery, accuracy, structure and environmental, while the one i bought, yes, stated the same features with the same drawing except the last – environmental. instead of environmental it stated ‘optical’ and the pic has an optical mouse above a mousepad with the word ‘opti-love’ on it. opti-love? funny! well it was this feature ‘optical’ that attract me to buy it. i wonder if i don’t see the word optical but environmental, i might not have bought it… because i’m stupid not to understand what’s heat trans??? heat trans mousepad do work for optcial mouse, right?
(ok ok, i know. i’d better go to howstuffworks to search for heat trans).
anyway, my mouse does feel easy to scurry around with its new home!
UPDATED: just discovered ear that the ‘turbo mousepad’ is optical! and it has the word ‘optic-love’ (with the picture) as my heat trans mousepad had. strange. but at the site, the heat trans mousepad doesn’t have optic-love, while the one i bought has. at the site only the turbo mousepad has optic love. oh boy, did i bought the wrong mousepad then? should i look out for a turbo mousepad? hmm… perhaps i should have stick to the conventional and back to using plain white paper!
