come what may

well, so yesterday was 1st of may and thus begins the month of may.

so how did 1st of may known as may day, workers’ day, labourers’ day went? as expected, that there would be some demostration or rally, indeed yes. in our capital city, there was a workers’ day rally organised by CUEPACS at sultan sulaiman club in kg. baru. in this rally, CUEPACS request the govt. to pay civil servants 13 months pay. 13 months? don’t we have only 12 months in a year? so where will the 13th month pay packet comes in? december? january?

there was another rally held at dataran meredeka, this one was headed by the malaysian trade union congress (MTUC) and parti keadilan rakyat (PKR).

out of the country, we heard that france held a nationwide protest.
and across asia too, the day was marked with rallies.

and i suppose in a few days, we might hear noises from the public regarding the hikes on buses, taxis, ferry in penang, which began 1st of may. but i suppose come what may (the protest), it’s no use, since hikes had already been enforced.

mentioning so many times 1st of may, reminds me of this song ‘first of may’ by bee gees. i love this song. it was an oldie and it brings back nostalgia as i recall singing it so often in my younger days.

hmm.. and may is going to be a busy month for me. already i had so many ‘appointments’ lined up.
* 4 may to attend a talk on ‘evangelisation’ by a priest.
* 6 may a meeting at church to discuss our parish exhibition. and lots of things to do on this occasion like preparing souvenir, banner.
* 8 may will be attending SUARAM’s human rights workshop (whole day). and not forget mother’s day celebration in the evening.
* 14 may – to attend a ‘tusnami’ dinner.
* 21 and 22 may will be at bukit mertajam for a stay-in session with AGM.
* 23 may – excursion to a hotspring in ipoh and some cave there.
* 28 may – cousin’s wedding!
* 29 may – gleneagles (hospital) food fair!

gosh. seems that i had covered all the weeks of may. oh boy, may will be a busy month for me indeed. well, come what may, i will still find some time to blog!
