how nice – we are all equal

i’ve got the cue to blog on this after reading lone’s post ‘we are all equal’. it’s about the PM’s merdeka message.

quote from new straits times:
“let all citizens of malaysia, without feeling inferior, without feeling sidelined, irrespective of race or religion, rise to become statesmen in our own land. we are equal, we are all malaysians. no individual in this country is more malaysian than another”.

read also his message from bernama and the star.

this is such a laugh.

we are equals? then why are there special priveleges for bumiputras? why in the first place there should be certain people be catergorised under bumiputras?

we are equals? then why is it a non muslim cannot be a PM?

“let all citizens of malaysia, without feeling inferior, without feeling sidelined, irrespective of race or religion, rise to become statesmen in our own land.”
the key word there is LET. i suppose does he knows deep in his heart there are people who had been feeling inferior and sidelined, therefore this is his merdeka wish, that people won’t feel inferior/sidelined no matter what race/religion they are?

or maybe he felt that some UMNO monkeys had been feeling superior, with this high and mighty attitude, that they are the lord of the country (ketuanan melayu, remember)?

gee… will pak lah’s wish of “we are equal” ever come true? will he? can he? dare he?
