pak lah’s ‘change’ a mere cheer ‘n chant

today am very tired so have nothing to post except to draw your attention to martin jallen’s article in malaysiakini tittled ‘pak lah’s ‘change’ a mere cheer ‘n chant’.

an excerpt:
A vote for Pak Lah is a vote for a hegemony of growing executive dominance which has reduced the political representation of the people, as embodied in Parliament, to nothing more than a rubber stamp, a symbol shorn of substance, stripped of essence, sidelined and side-stepped by the executive.

and also this:
To give a vote to the BN is to support a powerful hegemony that ignores minority groups such as the Orang Asli, other indigenous peoples and the Indian rubber estate worker, who have been displaced, deprived, dis-empowered and dislodged from their social environment and natural resource support system, and who have become disillusioned and dysfunctional.

so remember, on this sunday, when you go out to vote, do not vote to support BN-UMNO hegemony.
