playing with words

jikon lai in his latest blog post had creatively come up with some interesting names for the political parties’ acronym.

UMNO – Upwardly Mobile Natives Organisation
BN – Blighted Nationalist
MCA – Mangled Collusions Association
MIC – Muddled Infighting Coterie
DAP – Dithering Allegiance Party
PAS – Party Against Secularism

hmm… quite big words there. i can’t remember but i know many people had come up with different names for the parties too. the only one i remember is for PAS – parti ajaran sesat – this coming from someone who is anti-PAS of course. then just few hours ago, i came across for UMNO – unintelligent malays n.o.

can you think of any interesting names for the parties? due to too much workload yesterday my mind is empty now to think of any. (aarghh!! work!).

i remember many many years back when i was a kid in school, we like to play this spelling games – spell a word that made some action or question. for example:

me: do you know how to spell minutes in short form?
friend: what, you think i stupid. of course can lah.
me: then spell it.
friend: M-I-N-S
me (gleefully): yes you are! yes you are!
friend: *puzzled*
me: you asked “am i an ass?” so i answered yes you are.

friend: ask me to spell IBU
me: ok. how do you spell IBU?
friend: I – B – U (and at the same time beating me hard on my arm)
me: ouch! why beat me one. sakit lah. are you getting back at me for calling you an ass?
me: ibu spelling lah! i-beat-you, see.

there you have it. MINS translate to as ‘am i an ass’ and IBU as ‘i beat you’. kind of childish, isn’t it but hey i ‘played’ that during my primary school days lah.

ok, let’s be childish again and see what names we can come up for our political parties acronym? can it be translate to something… doesn’t matter if the english is not right or pronounciation a little out. let’s see…..

UMNO – you am an oar?
MCA – am see eh! (see what?)
MIC – am i si! (si in hokkien for ‘die’)

hmm… doesn’t sound convincing eh? maybe you guys can think of better ones? ahh… but wait!… i have a good one for BN.

BN – be end!!

ok folks, let this election be the end of BN!!

if not, at least……

deny BN the 2/3 majority!
