penang’s illustrious son will be our new PM
come tomorrow, a new PM will emerge, and whaddya know… he’s a penangtite! yessiree, our new prime minister, datuk seri abdullah ahmad badawi (or also known as ‘pak lah’) was born in kepala batas, the mainland part of penang state. he had been refereed to as the illustrious son of penang (or rather kepala batas) according to the paper.
a penangtite PM, pak lah
tomorrow, at 3.30pm, penang would be looking forward to welcoming the ‘illustrious son’ as the 5th PM of malaysia. according to the start report, an elaborate welcoming celebration is being planned. they’ll be expecting 10,000 to 20, 000 people at the airport, and along jalan tun awang to welcome him. and not only that, there will be a convoy of bikers to greet him too. 250 superbikers would accompanied pak lah from the airport, and they would be met by about 1000 bikers near the penang bridge. the penang BN youth who will be organising this convoy of bikers, invites anyone of you with a bike to join them. so you out there, who ride a bike whether superbike or ‘cub chai’, and fancy a joyride tailing the new PM, remember to be there!
pak lah will straight head to his hometown, kepala batas, of course to see his mother. and at kepala batas itself, the kampung people there will also be planning a grand welcome for him.
hmm… about the 20,000 people on hand to greet our new PM? i’m sure about half of them will be there not by choice but by force! i mean like they could be government servants and/or school children, who have to be present. er… i think it is a known fact that usually govt. function, like welcoming the PM or being at the PM’s launch of something, govt. servants and school children will have to be present whether they want to or not or they will be penalised. for example some school, demerit points will be deducted from then if they do not attend the function.
so come november 1, 2003 malaysia will have a new PM. what is your opinion of our new PM, the so called ‘mr clean’? I remember a few years back when i attended a rally by the opposition, when DAP chief, lim kit siang was the speaker, he said.
“and now we have abdullah badawi. they call him ‘mr clean’. we have no problem with that at all… but does that means the others in BN are not clean?”
everybody clapped and cheered, and I heard muttering from some people beside me “BN semua orang tidak bersih lah!”.
do you have any hope and aspirations for malaysia under the rule of ‘pak lah’? what changes do you wish to see under his rule as the PM? well i guess this would be what we call a ‘wish list’ as blog by lone here and here, who by the way, also had what he wrote in his blog published in malaysiakini’s letter section. oh and it seems that another person, fauwaz abdul also had came up with a wish-list for pak lah in malaysiakini too.
what about you? what’s your wish-list? well, for a start, from one penangtite to another…. i wish to see no more flooding in penang when it rains! 🙂
