it’s final – chin peng not allowed home
With reference to my earlier blog chin peng not allowed into malaysia, it seems that the ‘now’, has now become ‘final’. our deputy PM, badawi had given his final confirmation that chin peng would not be allowed into malaysia, and he said “i have no more (to say as) i’ve already made my statement. i don’t want to get into a debate (on the matter)â€
so does this means he is not going to tell us the reason? he had made up his mind and that’s it… no more debate, no more plea, no more reasoning? ok granted that he is the big boss and he has the final say, but don’t we deserve to know why he made the decision? or shouldn’t our views we sought before he made the decision? i guess to him this matter concerning an ex-communist (who was it that says he IS still a communist? think it was that zam zam guy) therefore something important and only he himself has the final say without seeking people’s views.
in joe-blog dated yesterday, he had written a good piece on why chin peng should be allowed to come home to malaysia, and there are many interesting comments there, including mine. and it seems also that malaysiakini has lots of interesting letters that support the return of chin peng. read one them here. from there, you’ll manage to see other letters.
