the why and how (part I)

hey you there! if you are right now reading this, i humbly thank you for taking the time to come in to my weblog. hopefully to see you coming back again and again and again… because if there are no readers, no ‘syok’ lah for me to blog, so please… puh…leezz pay a visit to my humble weblog often ok? and since i especially love feedback/comments from readers so do remember to put in your say ok (under ‘jog’)? terima kasih. thank you. kam siah. nendri.

ok so what shall my first post be about? ahh… of course some mumbling on the why’s and how’s of me starting a blog. actually my interest in blogging started many moons away… at the time when jeff ooi’s blog ‘screenshot screenshot’ was first featured in the star paper. then about the same time, my
13 years old niece in singapore told me she started a blog too. i was thinking to myself, hey if a 13 year old kid can, why not me? so i try to start one… with the help of my dear long-time online friend, wits0 his handle on the net) whom i ‘met’ via the
beritamalaysia‘ newsgroup. wits0 did not have any experience in blogging at all so all he was able to do was to source here and there for information, which can be found on the net if i myself searched for it, but of course when he pointed out a source of help, he added in his own personal techie expertise.that’s the difference of me myself searching for the info. lah. see, not that i’m lazy. heh! (thanx wits0!).

i did start one somewhere in april this year, but found that my weblog turned into a deadlog when i don’t know how in the world do i go back to do posting. so i let my blog rest in peace. then one day i was just mentioning hopefully someone would help me to start off a blog when i was making some comments in jeff’s blog, and lo and behold a lone good samaritan answered my call – lone! he guided me through the first few basic steps so finally i did started a blog of my own (thanx lone!)… but that was about it. i was contend to only have started a blog but do no postings. for reasons like no time, dunno what to post, scared dunno how to use, worry dunno how to use the features, etc.

then one day when i was at jikon lai’s (my ‘kaki lang’ since i am a lai too) blog, one of his postings entitled ‘reading blogs’, which comes in 4 parts attracted me. it gave me some insight into why people go into blogging and that sort of give me the confidence to start a blog, and finally jikon’s comments also boost up my confidence (thanx jikon!) when he said that i should not worry too much about advanced features (like using links, archives, images, etc) when it is the contents that is more important. hmm… true…as long as i have something to blab about… hey, go and post! features can come in later… so here i am now!
Watch out for part II tomorrow
