police brutality! one more reason to vote out UMNO!
many bloggers had already blogged on this - yes i’m always late. well i can’t blog during office hours! and at home, i usually blog only after midnight. nevertheless this is something very important that i HAVE TO blog on it. it’s regarding the bandar mahkota cheras ‘barricade/toll’ issue.
look at the picture here (courtesy of malaysiakini)….
this is the picture of 21 years old chang jiun haur.

… can you believe it, that this was done by the police… the FRU police to be exact.
according to malaysiakini:
he was repeatedly beaten by 20 riot squad (FRU) personnel armed with batons and kicked with boots.
phew! can you believe that? imagine 20 armed men beating a helpless unarmed young boy. and why was he beaten so violently?
A high-ranking police officer at the scene claimed that Chang had run over a FRU personnel with his car.
“He asked for it. He ran over a policeman and he got what he deserved,” the officer told Malaysiakini a few minutes after the incident.
what kind of logic is that? assuming chang was guilty of trying to run over a FRU personnel with his car, did he deserved this? is that what our police think? if so, i’m afraid… very afraid. the police who are here to uphold law become lawless. weren’t they the ones who used to tell us the rakyat not to take the law into our own hands when e.g we started beating the driver who killed someone with his car? now they are doing exactly what they told us not to!
ok before i end, methink i gotta do some explanation of the heading. i guess some people, esp. pro umno people of course (and umno cybertroopers?) will ask me what has the police brutality on chang to do with umno? plenty.
we know the police is under the federal government and the federal government is umno. er… sorry it is BN but we know umno control all the other BN component parties so basically the government is umno.
secondly, the executive director of grand saga is none other than a former Dang Wangi police chief (of course an umnoputera). see nathaniel tan’s post on this matter, where there are interesting comments on who owns grand saga and how the malay thugs were hired by grand saga (according to merdeka review) BUT the big boss of grand saga denied the thugs were hired by them. so which is which?
the latest news from malaysiakini stated that the selangor MB had revealed that a state owned company holds some shares in grand saga. there’s an interesting chart on who owns grand saga with all names of the share-holders and the percentage spelled out. you guys should subsribe to malaysiakini! support malaysiakini!

dinner with penang’s CM
true! see, here’s a picture of me and my colleague vincent with the CM. wah! we both wore the same colour shirt. (i was wearing the ‘abolish ISA’ badge)
it was a simple buffet dinner for all NGOs in penang at rumah tetamu, the CM’s official residence on tuesday, 27 may, 8.30pm. i was there representing the penang office for human development (POHD). only 3 of us were there as the others can’t make it. we arrived just about near 8.30pm… and oh my, CM lim guan eng (LGE) was there already! he was already seated at the dinner table. what a humble man… to arrive early and wait for guests instead of the other way round!

frust! blog down many times!
i guess for those of you who are regulars, when you try to log in my blog, there were times you can’t you access my blog right? yes, my blog had been down these few days. so fed up! for first time visitors if they come in and see can’t access my blog, it will put them off, never to come again. so frust lah!
usually like yesterday, in the morning and afternoon can access my blog but suddenly at around 4.00pm my blog cannot be access… and i was on computer until 8.00pm, still my blog can’t be accessed! more than 4 hrs! within that 4 hrs, many people would have come in already…. but see nothing. i guess this kind of explain i have no comments at some posts. people cannot access my blog! and once they cannot, they don’t feel like coming back. argghh!!
these intermittent server errors started occurring about 3 weeks ago (or maybe more). and the most frustrating part was that it started to occur when for the first time my blog appeared in malaysiakini. i notice the first time my blog appeared in malaysiakini, my traffic triple! imagine that! then later on for the subsequent times it appeared, at times i notice my blog can’t be accessed! this is no good, no good at all. when my blog just started to appear in malaysiakini, but malaysiakini visitors clicking on my blog link at malaysiakini, can’t access my blog! it put off visitors! i’m so sad lah.
hmm… i see that exabytes has some 7th anniversary promotion. perhaps i should switch to host with exabytes? or maybe with a friend who also offer hosting service.

anwar should apologise
that’s my answer to malaysiakini’s writer, ong kian ming and oon yeoah when they asked in the headline ‘should anwar apologised?‘.
apologised for what? for all his past wrong-doings when he was the DPM.
Anwar is no angel nor is he a saint. During his time in the upper echelons of the Umno leadership, and especially as deputy prime minister, he was guilty of doing many of the things he now criticises.
His maneuverings to control the media is well-known in journalism circles. He also allowed for undeserved appointments to top positions in public universities. And he also had his fair share of corporate cronies, details of which can be found in KS Jomo’s book ‘Malaysia’s Political Economy’.

yes, investigate mahathir at once!
when i read in malaysiakini that police report had been made against dr mahathir regarding the lingam tape, i was very pleased
PKR Youth has urged the police to immediately investigate former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad and five other high-profile individuals implicated in the royal commission report on the Lingam Tape scandal.
i had read somewhere that the ACA is going to start investigation on lingam and eusof chin, if i’m not mistaken. i was wondering why pick eusof chin first? it should be the 2 key players - lingam and ahmad fairus AND dr m!! yes there are 6 of them all together, but investigation should start with the prominent persons first!
dr m came in as prominent because of his big mouth show-off remark when he taunted the ACA to charge him… and that was not all… he mentioned if he is produced in court, he’ll be glad to expose the judges who lobbied for promotion during his term as PM, karpal singh then lodged a police report against dr m for that. methink karpal felt it is not fair for ALL judges, when in that statement of dr m, he sort of implicated all judges!! so he need to speak up to name the judges who did the lobbying and clear the ones who didn’t.
see, this is one of the reason, dr m should be investigated or charged at once where the lingam tape is concerned, not eusof chin.

Democracy in Malaysia is evolving and maturing.
Growth means change and growth often calls for one to leave behind zones of comfort and venture into unknown places. While some changes are slower to materialise, other changes that we can observe already taking place are truly refreshing.
