one truth. believe it.
argh! so much to blog about yesterday (actually i meant early wee morning today, since i usually blog after midnight) but i don’t know why i cannot access my blog site. don’t know where the problem lies. anyway now i’m staying back after office hours to blog. these days i’m not at home and blogging is not so easy to do (more about that - not being at home - later).
ok so yesterday was the ‘decoding the da vinci’ talk by rufus bruno pereira. he was a good eloquent speaker - no need notes at all to refer to talk. everything was in his head and popped out just like that. there was a good crowd present - almost fill the church, like a usual sunday mass crowd.

no power for ruling coalition if IPCMC is set up
we alll know that the police force is very against the setting up of the independant police complaints and misconduct commission (IPCMC). well, now the royal malaysian police force (or PDRM, its acronymn in bahasa malaysia) present to you the reasons why they are against the IPCMC - a special page dedicated to the IPCMC.
i notice that some of the reasons looks more like threats. consider this - the first reason (from IPCMC: why we don’t need it):
No TagsThe explicit and implicit effect of the formation of IPCMC is that the real organ which exercise powers of control over the Police will be the commissioners of the IPCMC and NOT the Minister. Let politicians beware that they will eventually lose powers, control and influence over a neutral, professional and people-centered Police (as suggested by the Royal Commission).

electricity tariff up… life-style must change?
since so many bloggers had blog on this, i’d better blog on it too. ok call me copy-cat, devoid of ideas or merely love to rant. haha.
oh yeah, electricity tariff increase! by 12%! but hey, good news for me! why? our house electricity bill is usually less than RM40 - so no increase for us. wahh! so kind of the energy, water and communication minister, lim keng yaik to think of us lower income group people?

UMNO rules
all hail the great UMNO! the supreme UMNO! first UMNO represents the public, then now it represents the cabinet/gomen/parliament… when it is up to them to decide on the fate of the movie ‘lelaki komunis terakhir’ (the last communist) by amir muhammad.
the movie was approved by the national censorship board but the home minister, radzi, banned the movieon 5 may. radzi is also UMNO secretary general. then on 21 may, the movie was shown to MPs and the media, including the culture, arts and heritage minister, rais yatim, who found nothing offensive in the movie. there were also many other views from those who had seen the movie that day. (refer to jeff’s blog for some of the views).

debunking the code
UPDATED: regarding the talk i mentioned, for information, please visit the penang diocese website.
if you read the star paper of 17 may (wed.), there is a column by one rufus bruno pereira on ‘the da vinci code debunked‘. he is from our catholic church. our office will be inviting him to give a talk on the same topic in penang at one of the church. for those who are interested to attend the talk, please contact me personally.
btw, i have not read the book and i will not bother to see the movie too. no, not because i don’t like it or believe it is blashphameous. it is just that i am not interested and also that i hardly get out to watch movies (prefer watching it on CD at home. maybe i’ll get one of da vinci code). in fact i am very happy that this movie was allowed to be shown, and i wished and wished that no church bodies or organisations would come out to say this movie should be banned. i want the movie to be shown and i want the world to see the reaction of christians.

this week i am very busy with work (office and voluntary) thus no blogging from me. what i can do is of course a CnP job… provide you with some interesting read from the newsgroup, beritamalaysia (for those who have not subsribe to it).
can you believe it? in response to nasri’s cry of “stupid”, one of the groups that protested said it was not stupid at all and even had some reasons why they protested. read about it here, and here too, where you can get to read on lots of other related news.
