let’s talk ‘kotor’ for now
oops! i didn’t mean “let’s talk dirty”…. dirty as in… you know… the p,o,… and the colour blue. yes you know (i know you are not that naive). i mean let’s talk about dirty dealings. lately there’s been so much bersih (clean) talk that i figure it’s time to talk kotor (dirty) instead.
ok so what is kotor for me to talk about now? something that happened several years back, which i’m sure none of you had forgotten. right? you’d better answer right!
ok let’s talk about the scorpene submarine scandal and the altantuya murder! (you remember!)
don’t you think these two are as dirty as they can ever get to be? why not!
the submarine scandal – the defence ministry spent more then RM7.3 billion to purchase 2 submarines, one of which can’t even sink! RM574.8 million was paid in commission to a certain company.
the altantuya murder – the poor girl was blown to pieces by C4! and five years later, her murderer is not known (er… maybe known but not charged).
kotor! kotor! kotor!
… and who were involved? yes, we all know who.
dirty dealings, dirty planning, dirty greed, dirty murder! DIRTY!
now, thank god to suaram, these kotoran might be expose. if you remember, in may this year, suaram had started ‘ops scorpene’ – an effort to probe suspected commissions involved in the submarine purchase, in the french courts. read about it in suaram’s website.
suaram had hired prominent french human rights lawyer, william bourdon to investigate into this ‘dirty’ dealings – huge commissions pocketed by an individual person/company and this is related to the gruesome murder of a young girl.
at the moment, william and his team had been providing services to suaram pro bono. however, when the case goes to court, a lot of expenses is expected. that’s why suaram is now organising a fund-raising dinner.
well, if you care to know the truth, if you want to see these dirty dealings be washed clean in public, come, offer your aid to suaram. we should be grateful to suaram for initiating this ‘ops scorpene’ as all of us too want to know the truth, i’m sure. as the submarine sale and the altantuya murder are related, a probe into the submarine sale will in a way probe into the murder of altantuya… or at least into who in malaysia had met her!
so do give your utmost support to suaram and come for the fund-raising dinner. there will be one in penang on 21 july and one in PJ on 23 july. please read here or here from its website for more details or visit the event’s facebook (PJ) and in penang.
