what are the advantages of online lessons? of course the first and foremost one is that you don’t have to leave your house at all. you can do it right in your home, on your favorite chair, in whatever dressing! then there is this flexi-time. you can choose what time you want to schedule your lessons. ain’t that great? for more exciting features, please remember to visit its site, ok.
what languages are available? plenty! for example online french courses, online german courses, online italian courses, online spanish courses, online english courses and so on.

penang monorail and PORR
these 2 projects are shelved! not totally canceled! or as DPM najib put it, ‘deferred’.
malaysiakini reported that the economic planning unit of the PM’s dept. announced these 2 projects had been shelved… and what reasons do you think they gave? these projects are not ‘people centred’.
it seems that many bloggers had taken it to mean that the federal government is canceling these 2 projects… and while some were not happy, there were some who are happy.

happy with the RM625? don’t! you are being screwed by the PM & cronies!
ok enough news from malaysiakini. here is something lighter… but very revealing and interesting, though i don’t know how far true it is. received this from someone via a mass email and there was only a byline of ‘by huah jubo’ whoever s/he is.

ECM Libra FInancial Group Berhad has a stake in Pos Malaysia Berhad (PMB) through it’s acquisition of Avenue Capital Resources in 2006. That deal left a bitter taste in the mouths of those knowledgeable in the financial world as it was a clear case of insider’s trading. Note that Khairy Jamaluddin was a Director of Investment in ECM Libra in 2004 before he tendered his resignation after this infamous debacle. However, Pak Lah’s closest crony, Dato’ Seri Kalimullah is currently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ECM Libra.

the media needs the freedom!

what a silly move by parliament to restrict journalists from entering the lobby! good to see the immediate respond from the journalists and camera-men, in staging a boycott, so report malaysiakini. (picture here taken from malaysiakini).
one of the reason they gave in restricting their moves was ‘for security reasons’. so silly! lim guan eng had this to say:
"No MP has ever suffered personal injury or threats from reporters accredited to cover the Parliament," he said.
"By imposing such restrictions merely for the personal comfort and conveniences of certain individuals would contravene the basic spirit of democracy and respect the sanctity of Parliament where reporters can carry out their duties to communicate debate on policy in an accurate and professional manner," he added.
notice the "for the personal comfort and conveniences of certain individuals "? hmm… i wonder what is he hinting at. individuals like the top 2 - the PM and DPM? especially at this time of the bombshell from RPK?
anyway, in an immediate response to this issue, my fellow ‘colleague’ of benar had written a memo to zaid, asking why aren’t his colleagues pulling along with the journalist (in reference to his speech during the walk). please visit the blog to read. oh and while doing so, after reading, please do not forget to sign the memo for media freedom, ok? all the more you should do it NOW! some ministers had started restricting the freedom of journalists, so we must push for the freedom of journalists!

rosmah, wife of DPM, was at the murder scene
several days ago there was a ‘bombshell’ dropped when SAPP from sabah announced its no confidence vote against the PM, but it seemed that later on a much bigger bombshell came by - from raja petra (RPK) of malaysia today.
yep, the one everybody had been talking about already - the statutory declaration from RPK (see below) claiming that rosmah, wife of najib, ouf DPM, was present at the murder scene of altantuya.

what kind of IP phones you are using?
whoa! i didn’t realised there are so many kind of IP phones around. well, that is because i don’t use one! i’ve heard of skype of course but silly me never thought one need a phone to use skype. i thought with the microphone is enough. haha. shows how really ‘untechie’ savvy i am, huh.
well, many years back i did used a chat function via the microphone before (forgot which program) so i thought with a microphone is enough for telephone calls via the internet. silly me. that was voice chat - different from telephone call… right?
anyway it’s a good thing that i came across this website that shows many different types of IP phones, and browsing through it, i managed to learn about IP phones. i notice that there are some as low as US$28 and some goes up as high as over US$1000!!
the cheapest one at US$28 is the radian technologies skytone. perhaps if i want to start using skype, i can consider purchasing this one. the reviews i read, it seems, there are half half positive and negative.
perhaps a better buy would be the logitech cordless handset at US$78. there are good reviews for it and it is perfect for skype. i notice that the more expensive ones, the cisco, comes with a big display.
well as i said i don’t use IP phone and am not techie savvy, i don’t really know which ones are good and don’t know how to tell which ones are good too. for those of you who are already using IP phones, perhaps you can share what IP phones you use and what to look for when selecting an IP phone to purchase. i’m glad though that at least i manage to visit wize.com website where i get to learn something (through the review) and saw IP phones in pictures for the first time!

chin peng is not a malaysian
,,, so ruled the court because it wanted chin peng to prove his citizenship by showing proof of identification. read about this in malaysiakini.
huh? he is not? i thought he was the famous communist from malaysia, so isn’t he a malaysian then?
darshan singh, chin peng’s lawyer said:
"We are unable to make sense of the ruling because Chin Peng had already said his identification papers were seized by the authority of the day in the 1940s and so he is unable to produce them," he added.
