shameful penangites!

and giving a bad name to christmas too!
a large group of rowdy revellers… a mob!… attacking the police! yes the sprayed artificial snow on the police car, and some even sprayed the snow directly onto the face of a policeman! and also throw empty cans and stones! shame!
all of them seems to be chinese and there are women too. some were seen wearing santa’s cap! shame!
one video that showed them spraying snow on passing motorists showed 2 children at it! shame!
shame! shame!
at one video a man was heard shouting… literally translated first – "eat money lah! eat money! now let you eat can!". (thus they threw the cans!). well, ‘eat money’ means taking money as bribe. obviously they were angry at all those stories of police taking bribes, so now feeling anger, they want to vent their anger at the policemen…. but did they had to be so rowdy?? shame!
police had arrested 15 people. only 15? should have arrested more of them! and hopefully the women too!
how and why did this large group gathered at gurney drive? was it some sort of gathering organised by some companies or what?
since when did revellers start gathering on christmas eve?? i thought they only did that on new year’s eve (31 dec). it’s understandable if revellers gathered, say at gurney drive or esplanade on new year’s eve to usher in the new year and in that process many will get rowdy. we read about it every year… about revellers turning rowdy when ushering the new year… BUT now during christmas eve?? sad… sad because a holy sacred religious festival had been hijacked by these ‘samseng’ to make trouble! shame!
i had watched a few of the videos on youtube but i’m not going to post any of them here. such shameful act does not deserve to be on my blog! if you want to watch them, you can click here (and choose from the many to watch).

I was on Gurney Drive that very evening, but didn’t quite make it to where the real crowd was (we walked only up to just after the Silverton condo), but I could see from the revellers walking from the direction of the roundabout that there was lots of foam going around… and from the cars coming from that direction, too.
Yeah, New Year’s Eve is one thing… and I don’t really mind the celebratory mood on Christmas Eve either, but I think being rowdy for the sake of being rowdy, and making a nuisance of oneself to others is definitely uncalled for…
Let’s hope the police don’t over-react and make Gurney Drive off-limits pulak…

walski
but i don’t like such a wild public celebratory mood for christmas. christmas is getting worst year by year – lost its true meaning.
klaw
oh, in KL they also use these foam? yalah those people were crazy to the core!
