if you thought you are mistaken thinking i’m talking about my temperature rising (anger), don’t be…. i am. i mean my temperature is rising indeed… after i read on the star front page ‘highland warning‘ which warned that temperature in the higlands are fast rising all due to over-development. over-development. that is the word that got my temperature rising.

i had long ago voiced my concern on all those development that was going on in our highlands e.g. genting highlands, cameron highlands, fraser’s hill, penang hill.

it was mainly the clearing of forests/trees that contribute to the rising temperature. from that same article:

i have not read the paper (the star which i subscribed to) for 3 days! too busy. er… actually not really that but i should rather say ‘too busy on computer’. haha. when i’m on computer how to read the paper? (whether hardcopy or online. i rarely read online paper anyway). my free time are all spend on the PC, so where got free time to read paper unless… i will only read the paper when i’m watching tv and i hardly watch tv but spent a lot of time on PC, thus no time to read paper. that’s my definition of ‘no time to read paper’. by right, it should be ‘prefer to be on the PC than read paper’. haha.

heh. actually i already blog about this but i purposely put in such a heading to attract visitors.

it was under my post ‘my first three days of CNY‘ that i wrote about these two matters. i guess not many might not be interested at all to read about my first three days of CNY so with that kind of heading, not many visitors will drop by but if i mention i met our PM, badawi, i guess more will drop by. ok lah. you may say it… like what other bloggers like to say - blog whoring, right?

yes, on the 2nd day of CNY, i met badawi face to face at the mca/gerakan open house. jostle among lots of people to get some shots of him. pushed and pushed by people (and nearly fell) who wanted to shake his hands. no, i didn’t attempt to want to shake his hands (whatever for?) but only attempt to take photo of him.

yes, on the 3rd day of CNY, i won an ipod shuffle at john ong’s penang hokkieng golden pig reunion gathering… and here is the picture of me receiving the prize from john.

btw, john ong was featured in the star paper twice, one about the podcast workshop and the other about his podcast aboard the penang ferry. there was also a star photographer taking many shots during the golden pig reunion gathering which i attended but i did not go and ‘cam whore’ (another phrase started by bloggers) so i guess my face won’t appear. oh and the podcast made during our gathering is now ready if you are interested to listen to it. of course it is all in hokkien. i have only a small part there… twice… when you hear john’s loud voice calling my nickname ‘kim hu bak’. first time, was when john asked how do i get to know of his site, penang hokkien and what was the first podcast i remember listening to. the 2nd time was when i happened to be online with my PDA and gave me the chance to introduce my blog!

yep, weekend time, so time to post a joke. this is said to be one of the classic joke.

wahh… so are we suppose to be very happy at our PM, badawi’s angpow for us, penangites? you know, when he announced that rapid KL will be taking over penang’s bus transportation and allocated RM50 mill. to improve bus system in penang.

how kind of him. how generous of him ah. he made sure to mention to us that last year he also gave us an angpow too - the proposed second bridge and monorail.

ok, make it 4 days as i’m including CNY eve. this is going to be sort of like a diary account of CNY eve and the first 3 days, with lots of pictures accompanying, so be warned it will be a very long post.

CNY EVE (17 feb, saturday) - reunion dinner and mass

had reunion dinner at my brother’s place. steamboat. we started early at 5.00pm since my brother and his family wanted to leave for church at 9.00pm there were 7 of as at the reunion dinner - my brother and his wife and 2 children, and my mother and my sister.

the 30 year old mother (the killer!!) had been arrested, and police also detained the father for questioning.

the two boys killed were an 18 years old baby and a 6 years old boy. they were strangled with an electric iron cord.

it seemed that the couple’s relationship had started to strain when the husband voiced his intention of taking a second wife. i wonder why he wanted a second wife. i thought i read that the taking of a second wife is strictly to be done with valid reasons only like when the wife cannot bear children or the wife… cannot perform in bed (right? the latter i mean. i stand corrected). certainly not for ‘gatal’ reason!! if it was for that reason, as a woman, i can understand the wife’s frustration.

the report in NST stated that the wife sent the husband an SMS on sunday evening, asking him to return home, and threatening him that is he did not return, she will kill their children. well the husband only return later, at 11.40pm and when he returned, he look into the children’s bedroom and didn’t suspect anything amiss! he thought the children were sleeping.

anyway investigation revealed that the boys had been dead for at least 12 hours before their bodies were found, which means to say that the wife could have killed the boys before the threatening (to kill the boys) phone call to the husband on sunday evening.

hmm… what does this tells us of the wife? she had already pre-planned the murder and want the husband to bear most of the responsibility of the boys being murdered? well, she lied to the husband (if the boys had already been killed when she told the husband she will killed them if he did not return home).

another thing, though the wife threaten the hubby, the hubby did not return home so i guess the hubby did not take her seriously at all. another thing… i was thinking could he be with his soon to be 2nd wife at that time?… which was what the wife might thought of too! in fact i would have thought that maybe the wife thought of that, that was why she was so angry so murdered the children… but now investigation tell us otherwise.

i really don’t know what went on the woman’s mind to make her resort to such drastic, deadly action - on her own children.

’suffer the children’. yes, when parents get caught in a fight, the children will suffer. it’s not fair. it’s so sad. ;(

can you believe it?? just as two days ago i made this post on ‘cruel parents‘ about a mother or father or both killing their own children, it happened again. on that post it was more on a parent wanting to commit suicide himself/herself, then decided to kill his/her children too… and mostly it was because of a fight with the spouse (or sometimes poverty).

this time, yes it was a fight. i heard this news on tv3 nightline (the midnight news). it happened near where i stay! in bayan lepas, penang. a woman strangled her two children (if not mistaken, one is 1 yrs old and the other 5 yrs old) just because she was angry that her husband did not come back when she telephoned him to come back.

oh gosh!! can you believe that? tv3 show showed quite a long footage of the incident - showing the house (flat), the police carrying out the dead bodies in bag, and also the mother in a patrol car.

i really wonder what drove the mother to kill her own children. ok it was anger as i mentioned… anger at her husband… but why took it out on the children? is she a bit mental? does she has some psychological problem? had she been feeling depressed or stressed out? no matter what, i find it very very difficult to believe a mother can killed her own children with her bare hands.

my heart went out to the two young innocent children. their lives snuffed out just like that. why? why oh why this sort of thing can happened? adults are suppose to protect children… more so when the adults are their own parents! why did a parent/parents brought children into the world, only to take them out of the world so heartlessly. i’m so angry. i’m so sad.
