160909 – a very happening day

fast_nationfirst and foremost, of course 16 sept 2009 (160909 see. not some ‘ang kong’ numbers for you to buy lah), is malaysia day… you knew that right?  the day where in 1963 malaysia was formed. many people said we should celebrate malaysia day and not merdeka (independence) day. hmm… i thought the penang government last year announced that it will declare 16 sept a public holidiay for penang. no? since today is already so near 16 sept and we heard nothing so i guess i must have mistakenly hear/read about it.

oops. i didn’t mean to talk about that but about lots of happening that’s going to happen on 160909, so this is like an announcement post.

first, the ‘fast for the nation, peace for malaysia‘ project.  this was started by sivin kit. basically, you are required to fast from dusk to dawn and at the same time, try to do a good deed on that day and also to pray for peace in our country.

secondly, i wonder if anyone remember the bangsa malaysia initiative started by haris ibrahim years back. well, haris is now reviving the initiative and will launch it on 160909.  (the name is now lengthen a bit to add ‘saya anak bangsa SABMlogomalaysia’ or SABM initials).  if you are in KL, do take your time to attend the launch. it will start at 6.30pm and held at rumah anak bangsa malaysi, 66 lorong setiabistari 1, bukit damansara.

well, for those in penang who can’t make it to the SABM launch in KL, don’t fret. let us instead have our own gathering in penang. actually the bangsa malaysia penang (BMP – uh oh now must change to saya anak bangsa malaysia penang?) already existed years ago when the first bangsa malaysia initiative was brought to penang. we have an e-group and a few of us are active there.  it had been a long time our BMP group had not met so i was thinking why not we take the opportunity of our malaysia day to meet. so to all penangites who cares about being an anak bangsa malaysia, do join us ok:

date: 160909 (wednesday)
