ahoy there! BN is sinking! (caused by UMNO!)

razaleigh, when commenting on BN’s loss in KT and on najib’s denial:

"But the response from the leadership yet again is that this ‘should not be interpreted as voters having spurned the BN’.

"Our leadership remains in denial. Loyal members of Umno and the BN will feel they are on a sinking ship," he said, noting that this was the BN’s third loss in an election in 10 months.

umno had already started to sink prior to march 8, 2008 and after that, keep on sinking deeper and deeper…. in august 2008 in permatang pauh and in january 2009 in kuala terengganu (KT)…. yeah as razaleigh put in, KT was BN’s third humiliation (from malaysiakini).

razaleigh had correctly stated that the rakyat rejected umno in its present form and style and they rejected its leadership but yet… *sigh* denial! denial!

what? are the leaders so muka tebal? third humiliation already and yet in denial? good! let them go on swimming in ‘the nile’ river (the nile river = de-nial river, see)…. after all that’s the only thing they can do after thier ship sink!

i find it really hard to believe our soon-to-be but hope-won’t-be PM’s denial of "should not be interpreted as voters having spurned BN."  it’s so ridiculous that it was so laughable :lol.

then yesterday, we heard him said that the KT loss was just another wake-up call.

Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak described the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition’s loss in the Kuala Terengganu by-election last Saturday as a “setback” but said that it would do nothing to change the political landscape of the country.

and he continued:

He also said that the opposition’s victory did not mean that its strength was growing nor did it portend a disastrous outing for the Barisan in the next general election.

see? constant denial! if he that was how he felt , means he was not admitting that there is something wrong with BN. he did not feel the ship sinking! well, good in a way for us. let the ship sink more than!

"A party leadership in denial is unlikely to form a government with the realism and guts to face an economic meltdown that it also denies is happening. We are in uncharted waters with no one at the wheel," he said.

remember the movie titanic? remember the theme song "my heart will go on"? well i guess even as the ‘BN ship’ sinks, najib will sing "my umno will go on"!!

umno is sinking! umno is sinking and pulling along its partners from BN.

on another note, listen to what the wise tok guru nik aziz had to say, when he asked pakatan leaders to be gracious about their victory.

Nik Aziz:  Be gracious about victory

PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat urged PAS and Pakatan Rakyat leaders to be "a gracious winner" and not utter snobbish remarks that could hurt the feelings of those who lost in yesterday’s Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election.

The Kelantan menteri besar said any negative statement following the victory would put the party in a bad light.

"Don’t hurt the feelings of opponents because if they are hurt, it will be difficult for us to convince them of our struggle," he was quoted as saying by Bernama.

In the by-election, PAS won the Kuala Terengganu seat by a 2,631-vote margin.

BN’s Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh polled 30,252 votes while PAS’ Mohd Abdul Wahid, who is Wakaf Mempelam assemblyperson, polled 32,883 votes.

Independent candidate Azharudin Mamat @ Adam polled 193 votes and lost his deposit.

Nik Aziz, who is grateful for the victory, said it was a meaningful one as there were signs that the non-Muslims, especially Chinese voters, had began to understand PAS’ objectives.

Not disappointed

Meanwhile, Azharudin said he was not disappointed with the defeat and would consider contesting again in future elections.

Saying that he accepted the result with an open heart as he had already done his best, the independent said the experience had taught him a lesson on the need to make a thorough and early preparation.

"I don’t feel disheartened at all… I am aware that the people are voting for parties and not individuals," he added.

Asked whether he would join any political party in the future, he said, it was not something impossible.

On his disappearance throughout the polling day yesterday, Azharudin said, he was at a mosque praying for the best.

He also urged the winner to fulfil the promises made and for BN not to be discouraged by the result.

"I myself will try to fulfil my promise," he said.
