    paula’s bail extended

POSTED: Saturday, 29/11/08, 1:20 AM   FILED: government, issues, malaysia, personal, politics |

remember penang’s anti-ISA vigil at the esplanade on 15 nov? it was a very good and successful gathering, where we see the presence of our ‘red-helmet’ guests toward the end of the gathering. unfortunately, towards the end, paula, who was the MC for the day was arrested. she was to report back to the police station on 28 nov. - yesterday - and in a show of support, 14 bloggers and friends turned up at the police station. oh, but only 3 of us managed to enter while the rest of us had to hang around outside the gate of the police station.

the faces of sirul & azilah (police accused in the altantuya’s murder case)

POSTED: Wednesday, 26/11/08, 1:41 AM   FILED: issues, malaysia, politics |

here they are - the faces of the two bodyguards policemen - who are standing trial in the altantuya’s murder case.

though these pictures showed their side profiles only, at least it is better than nothing, better than what you see when these two appeared in court - their faces all covered up tightly, where you can’t see anything at all.

many people had complained and wondered why were the faces of these 2 men covered up each time they showed up in court. yes i wondered too. what were so special about them, that their faces can’t be exposed to the public? why, only them, and being the accused, got special treatment, allowed to not show their faces?

“yes to ISA” - that’s why no police??

POSTED: Tuesday, 25/11/08, 1:49 AM   FILED: government, issues, politics |

oh wow! a ‘yes to ISA’ t-shirt? great idea! i salute whoever comes out with it. it’s their rights to wear whatever t-shirt they like… just as i like to wear ‘no to ISA’ t-shirt. how come, though, sometime back, there was this man who was detained by police for wearing an ‘no to ISA’  t-shirt? how come during the anti-ISA vigil, ‘no to ISA’ t-shirts (and also RPK t-shirts) were not allowed?

ok maybe it is a little too premature to talk about the ‘yes to ISA’ t-shirt since this is the first time i came across it… but look at the 2nd picture - a gathering of more than 5 on the public road, obstructing traffic!!

do these malay/muslim reps speaks for all malay/muslim?

POSTED: Monday, 24/11/08, 1:58 AM   FILED: islam, issues, malaysia, politics, silly |

looks like these groups of NGOs have nothing better to do again. earlier, we read about some of them (though may not be same) lodging police report against penang’s CM for wanting to have road signs in english, tamil, mandarin and arabic.

now some groups of NGOs are lodging police report again - "over several issues which they claimed endangered muslim and malay unity." muslim and malay unity? were they speaking for ALL muslim/malays?

well one of the issue was concerning ISA:

    homosexuality is worst than murder

POSTED: Monday, 24/11/08, 12:52 AM   FILED: general, islam, issues |

….. so said abdul kadir, head of education and research at malaysia’s islamic affairs department.

….. and this came from an interview in the world popular magazine, TIME.

well, homosexuality is deem as a sin in most religion, right? i do know it is - in islam and christianity. oh and i’m sorry to say (and dare to say it) though i’m a christian i don’t look to homosexuality as a sin but that is another story.

yes, understandable homosexuality is view as a sin to many, including abdul kadir…. but to say that it is worst than murder??? is abdul kadir out of his mind?

let’s see. i remember reading somewhere the explanation of homosexual sex, something like, an act that goes against the natural course of law, or an un-natural act in sex.

how can that be any worst than murder? isn’t murder an un-natural act too, and worst, it involve (1) the other party not willing (of course!) and (2) taking away the life of the other party.

    tell me which is worst?

so in a way is abdul kadir telling everyone that the case of anwar’s sodomy is far more important to pursue (and bring the culprit to sentence) than the case of the altantuya’s case?
    *SIGH*

note: read further from zorro’s blog, where i get to know of this news from.

… oh razak baginda, when you said that the DPM and his wife are not involved at all in the altantuya’s murder case, as reported in malaysiakini.

you know, the more razak baginda said DPM is not involved, the more people will think he is involved! why else do you think he would want to defend the DPM so passionately and fiercely?

ok nothing much to say but want to point you to antares’ blog where he had a good analysis of conditions to clear najib and wife’s name… and finally for a good laugh, don’t forget susan loone’s humour about najib’s underwear on this issue.

NOTE:  video showing the arrest - police dragging people into the black maria - at the PJ candlelight anti-ISA vigil on 9 nov.

video showing the arrest in PJ

POSTED: Friday, 21/11/08, 12:38 PM   FILED: general, government, malaysia, politics |

guess not many of you will have forgotten the vigil at the civic centre in PJ, where the riot police brutally cracked down on the peaceful protestors of ISA while singing the national anthem. 23 people were arrested, and as i blog here (and this post too about those arrested),  2 of my friends were among those arrested.i also mentioned about bk ong who were arrested, who had his video camera confiscated. well, seemed that he got back his video camera and was surprise to find that whatever he had recorded was still there. he said, it could be his video camera’s battery was weak, thus the police were not able to delete whatever were captured.

so here it is - the video by bk ong himself. you can clearly see how the police dragged and shoved people into the black maria. spread this video around!
(in the meantime, malaysiakini’s videographer’s video camera had been returned too but it was reported the camera was tampered with)

another proof - umno still think they are the gov’t

POSTED: Thursday, 20/11/08, 2:01 AM   FILED: government, malaysia, politics |

from malaysiakin, ‘UMNO must steet gov’t policies’:

Umno vice-president Mohd Ali Rustam once again reiterated that the party must take control of the government to ensure Umno policies, especially the New Economic Policy (NEP), are being implemented effectively at all levels across the nation.

whoaa!! "umno MUST take CONTROL of the government to ensure UMNO POLICIES"!!!
nice one, ali rustam, nice one.

yes, i know. as according to malaysiakini, this was not the first time he made such remarks but i specially pointed it out now after i read about MCA info chief lashing out at him.
