poorer by RM445

flowers_allsouls.jpgno, no, not that i had my purse snatched. you see, i had used up the RM425 just for yesterday morning alone for various stuffs that i need to do ages ago.

ok let me begin from the beginning (uh… oh… this sounds like a cue that my post is going to be a long winded one. 😀 )

well, today is all souls day, the chrisitan equivalent of the buddhist (or is it taoist?) ‘cheng beng’,the day we pay our respects to our departed loved ones. i took leave today… no, not specifically because of this day but also that i have other ‘errands’ to do.

first, my sister drove me (together with my mum) to the JPJ (road & transport dept) to renew my driving license (around 9.00am that time). remember i mentioned how my purse was picked during the PC fair in april? i lost my driving license (among other things) and can you believe it or not, from that time onwards, i did not bother to have my license made. imagine. been riding my chaly all over for 6 months without a license. luckily no police stop me. for sure no police will stop me as i am no mat rempit look-alike. how can it be, when chaly is so small and cute, and me the rider, also small and cute. ok ok, cut off the ‘cute’ there. just small. small and short lady on a small and cute bike – is no suspect for the police.

well it was relatively easy and fast to have my license renewed. 5 mins wait, 5 mins processed… and voilia! everything ready in 10 mins. i had to pay RM20 for my ‘lost’ license, then it is RM20 for a year. i took the maximum 5 years, thus total RM120.

then we went to the immigration dept. as my mum and i need to renew our passport. we are leaving for singapore in early december!

there were not too many people there, thus it was quick fast. well the queue and the processing was fast but the wait for name to be called, then pay the fee, was quite slow. i notice there was only 1 officer. 5 counters were opened, and all the forms processed by these 5 staffs were handed to this 1 officer to check… thus the delay i guess. oh, i had to pay RM300 for the passport.

after having our passport made, we went to the western road cemetery.(above picture shows one of the many flowers stalls outside the western road cemetery). not too many people around this time as it was working hours and also the sun was burning hot!! usually towards the evening the crowd will increase, esp. when at evening time, the priests will be there to bless the graves. last year i had blog about all souls day in 2003 and 2005. (those were from my blogger blog, there were comments but all comments disappeared after i imported the posts to wordpress here).

after the cemetery, i decided to go and pay a visit to the dentist… a trip which i had wanted to do so for a long time but kept putting it off. you see, lately, as far back as 2 months ago, i had been having this pain on my right big tooth. i can’t eat on my right side! when i do, there’s some soft stabbing pain. well the dentist found out that yes, there is a small hole on my tooth that caused the infection which made the tooth painful when eating. he only gave me some medication to take and said, after taking the medication, then only i go back to have the tooth ‘refilled’. 3 types of pills! cost RM25!

so you see, in that 1/2 day i had spent RM425… and oh god, it’s only the beginning of the month! oh dear me, guess i must go on bread and butter or maggi mee for my lunch this month.
