police report lodged (re: article 11)

the article 11 forum in penang that was disrupted refers. yeah i’m not through with talking about the forum yet.
later on a post about the forum to be reconvened. after that post was up, i was disturbed to read of this news. apparently the mob that turned up to disrupt the forum was the anti-interfaith commission body, which is known by its malay’s acronymn BADAI, and BADAI was said to have threathen the article 11 coalition that:

if they continued with their road show to discuss the constitution, they would face “bigger risks” than what they did in Penang.

BADAI chairman had labelled the article 11 coalition as ‘enemy of allah’. yesterday’s report in malaysiakini stated that 2 groups, SUARAM and HAKAM had lodge a police report against BADAI.

deputy internal security minister, fu ah kiow stated that the the organisers of the article 11 forum in penang should have
restricted the event to invited and registered guests.

ahh, but they did. see my post on the forum announcement. there is a contact number/person for people to contact if they wanted to attend the forum. we did registered, giving our names, email and telephone numbers. and when we walked in the room for the talk, we had to check our names with the list and signed on the list.

lots of people had been talking about the ‘bloody sunday’, where the police acted violently on those who came to protest against the electricity and petrol hike. i find this strange. the protestors were there peacefully to voice their concern and to air their views, yet the police acted so harshly on them BUT this mob that turned up to disrupt the forum, the police did nothing against them.

another thing i hate to hear is that ‘advise’ thingy… where now we hear fu ah kiow repeating it again:

“The police only advised them to stop the forum for security reasons.”

He added that the organisers could have continued the forum if the situation was not critical.

advised? advised!! huh! advised indeed! what a laugh! why didn’t the police adviced the mob to disrupt instead? no need to spray water canon on them, just advise them.

fu was also talking without any sense – “if the situation was not critical” – of course it shouldn’t have been critical if the police control the mob!

ok before i go, don’t forget to read an interesting letter from sunil lopez in malaysiakin where he ponders on the action (no action?) of the attoney general on the mob.
