coming up – to debunk the code
Post on Apr.15, 2006
under the post ‘lies and deception’, i had blog something about the da vinci code – about the movie that is going to be release next month, and informing that before the movie release, a DVD tittled ‘the da vinci code deception’ had surfaced to counter attack the lies in the book. that documentary is produced in US.
it’s good to learn that, on home ground, churches and christian groups have lined up a series of talks and gatherings to counter the movie. yep, basically to debunk the da vinci code.
rev. simon yong, parish priest of the catholic church, st francis xavier in PJ had this to say:
“People tend to give more credence to anti-establishment views today, and the church is a big establishment. But the Catholic church will not fight back against these people as it is not in our nature,” he said.
indeed. no point to feel insulted and shout “blasphemy!” and go on a street protest. we do it the peaceful way, by having talks and producing documentaries.
i wonder if anyone of you remember, sometime back at the height of this danish cartoons controversy, our dear deputy PM said this:
The Government will not tolerate offensive and inappropriate depictions of Jesus Christ and other religious icons, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
The Government wants appropriate respect to be accorded to all religions and the people must be sensitive and aware of this, he said …
… “If anyone publishes anything inappropriate about Jesus Christ, we will also take tough action against him or her.
“We need to enforce tough measures to prevent such articles from creating social unrest,” he said
i have blog about it here, which received quite a number of comments. in that post i said, no thank you, mr DPM, we don’t need you to take care of us. more importantly we can take it if people made fun of our jesus. however, thinking back what he said, i wonder, if he meant what he meant, why does the government now allows the movie to be screened? not that i mind as i had stated before a made believe fiction is not going to shake my faith. it’s just that i wonder… he did said “the government wants…. to ALL religions and….”. all, see. all… so why then allow the movie to be screened?
oh before i end, a reminder to check out the jesus decoded website.

The author was sued by two other authors for plagiarism. Re:

He won the case however about several days ago when the US court ruled in his favor.
What’s more deeply sinister(beyond the mere controversial details) than the obvious is that ledftist undercurrent to undermind the Judeo Christian ethos. As far as they are concerned, they’ll make a fuss about an ant while a tiger is lurking in the bush ready to eat them.
Then there’s the attractive money angle, of course.
lucia: yep i read about the case in the paper.Â
