meet in a non existent place
oh gosh! what an idiot i was! i choose a non existent place for our mini bloggers birthday meet.
honestly speaking, i haven’t been to KFC in prangin mall at all but i figure to myself all shopping complexes sure must have KFC. i had came across macD though in prangin mall so am sure there’s KFC too. i actually prefer to eat burgers than chicken but as i had read a good preview of KFC’s new curry crunch chicken from huai bin, i thought to give it a try. yes i know there is KFC in komtar but prangin mall’s KFC should be newer than komtar, so prefer to go there.
up to the last minute (saturday afternoon) still not knowing where KFC in prangin mall was, i checked KFC website and lo and behold i saw the address somewhere in sub-basement of pragin mall. ahh, i thought to myself, so there is a KFC. well so i went, looked around, but colonel sanders was not in sight at all. so i asked a staff of a nearby handphone shop and i was shocked when she told me there’s no KFC in prangin mall.
“but” i insisted, “i just saw on the website, there is one.”
“oh,” she said, “yes, there was one but it was closed down quite long time ago.”
what?? oh no! what to do now, i thought to myself. then i figure i had better go to KFC in komtar instead and wait there, hopefully that those intend to come will contact me.
yes, first of all cmos of blur sotong contacted me. then later on, andy of witty squirrel contacted me. luckily they have my handphone no. then i remember ong of malvu doesn’t have my phone no. matilah, i think to myself, how ah. then suddenly i remember my ‘part’ colleague, joachim of POHD might have ong’s no. (since POHD and ong are NGO/activists!). joachim doesn’t have his no. but asked me to try anil netto of aliran. well i try anil but anil doesn’t know ong’s no. either, and asked me to try choon kai of suaram instead. haha! passing from one to another. anyway, in the end, it was smart of ong to call joachim and ask joachim for my no. instead.
well, the first to arrived was cmos, followed by andy. when ong arrived, only then we moved in the restaurant (were previously sitting outside on the empty stage). since i know these are the 3 who confirmed coming. kiatlc of penanglang who confirmed attending, had to back out last minute (sms me in the afternoon).
i wonder did some others turned up but couldn’t find the non-existent venue? nah, if they did, they would have email me or put up a comment here. never mind. since this is a mini private meet, i didn’t expect a lot of people. further i only blog about it a day before the meet.
well, cmos works fast. he already had the story and photos of our meet up about an hour ago. there’s not much that i need to say about the meet that cmos had already said (well done, cmos! go and read his account!). anyway, i had already said so much on my ‘prologue’! hehe!
well, but i have to say a ‘besar terima kasih’ to those who turned up. appreciate you taking the time off for the meet. hope you enjoy the food! oohh… ouch… too much food eh (andy’s word was ‘bloated already’). and apology to ong not knowing you are a vegetarian but in the end you did have your ‘garden salad’ (new from KFC). there was one chicken left over! nobody can get it stuffed inside their stomach anymore as, like andy said, we were all bloated (more so when i bought 2 cups of drinks for all. haha!). but since i felt it will be such a waste to leave the chicken, i decided to polish off… its skin only. well, it’s the skin that taste the best, isn’t it. 🙂
ok here’s a picture of the 4 of us in the restaurant of colonel sanders in komtar. cmos prefer to remain anonymous hence i made him into the colonel.
l to r: andy, ong, yours truly, colonel… er… cmos
